Is it just me who deliberately goes to the back of venues cos I can’t be arsed with excessive screaming, pushing and the 8 foot guy who will inevitably stand within an inch of my face no matter where I am? Give me a nice space at the back near the bar with a view over the crowds heads and I’m happy. Nobodies knocking my cider out of my hand then either. Bliss. Ha made me laugh this. I agree with you about being near the bar but there’s nothing quite like being near the front sometimes too. I’ve only seen Avril once and that was on the TTSMU tour in Manchester. I’m glad I saw her then because that was before she became huge if that makes sense. No way would I see her during the TBDT tour in arenas, when like others have said a load of casuals and non fans would go, plus she went a bit girly then. I feel really nostalgic thinking about the first tour though, being 17 and getting bladdered and going with a girl I fancied at the time. I also like the way I’ve been watching videos on Instagram of the HAW tour whereas back in the day I think I found them searching through Windows Media player!

So... is there any FULL performance of It was in me recorded and uploaded on youtube or anywhere else? All that I have seen were just shorter parts and it sounded amazing. i'd love to hear it full...

I've watched a couple of videos of Saturday's show and I think it seemed good good. Not perfect, but she couldn't possibly make it perfect for all of us. I personally wish she'd move a bit more, jump around, run around, things like that. Just go a little crazy. Then again, she's never really done it that much, or at least not since The Black Star Tour, I think. She seems to be more focused on her voice. The setlist is imo alright, though too best-of-ish, and 4 HAW songs really is too little. I missed TMIO and especially "Warrior". I hadn't really expected her to sing "Birdie" because of the whole Rotem thing. I'm glad she sang IWIM, but it's a bit of a shame that that was the only song on the setlist she'd never sung live before, so that was the only really new thing. I also think she maybe should've ended the show with a HAW song. After all it's the HEAD ABOVE WATER Tour, so the focus should be on that album. I wonder why she bothered to sing HTNGU and WTH. I felt like she already grew tired of those songs mid-AL / mid-GL era. Maybe she thought she had to add at least one single from each album...? But 16 songs overall is totally fine by me. Avril's setlists have always been around that length, haven't they? What bothers me too is the stage design / those videos playing in the background. It's too much imo. It distracts from the actual performance. I prefer it more simple, a couple of nice light effects, the band and their instruments, the artist/singer, that's it. No need for costume changes either unless they make sense / are necessary. Which is another thing that bothers me a tiny bit. Avril seems to go through 5 costume changes. There's a white dress, a black dress, a black outfit (pants + shirt), something with some weird pink wings or whatever this is, and the red dress. The white and red dresses make sense for me, they're needed for HAW and "Devil". Then one black outfit for the other songs. Leaves two outfits that are imo unnecessary. But don't get me wrong, it's really not a big deal to me. It's just something I wanted to point out. Another thing I noticed in some videos is the playback. It's too loud at times. I didn't hear it in all of those videos, though, so it might very well just be due to the quality of those videos. Now about the positives: Avril's voice is fantastic. Okay, she seems to struggle a little with the low notes sometimes, especially in "Devil" it seems, but that is more than acceptable when you consider the fucking high notes she keeps belting out. When I watch live performances of other artists, I rarely hear them hitting notes like that. There are usually always a couple of notes they fuck up. Which is perfectly fine, they're not robots. And I'd rather watch someone having fun on stage and fucking up a couple of notes than someone who sings everything perfectly but just stand there and seems unenthusiastic. Avril, however, seems to manage both the near-perfect vocals and a nice amount of enthusiasm. I have to admit, I always underestimate her when it comes to this. It's her voice more than anything that really makes me want to go see her on this tour now, too. I really hope she'll play somewhere near my hometown... I also really like that she added KHO to the setlist. I hadn't expected that at all. I don't think she's performed this song very often before, has she? I'm not sad "Breakaway" hasn't been performed (yet). I've never liked this song much, neither her version nor Kelly's. It would have been interesting to hear Avril sing it now, after all these years, but I really can do without it. I'm glad she crossed IAGWIW off the setlist. Finally. She always fucking rocked the song vocally, but it was getting super tiring nonetheless.
The little games she does are nice, too. I got to see her live once so far, but even back then, the little game she does before HW was starting to get boring, so I really don't need that one anymore. But I really liked how she made the crowd repeat the "la la la la la la la la" in WTH several times and having the crowd sing the last chorus of IWY multiple times is always one of the biggest highlights and imo an absolute must. I love the fact that she still does it. The intro for "Devil" is really beautiful. Her intro for "Complicated" seems to be (almost) the exact same she already used back in 2011, lol. The most important thing (next to her amazing voice), however, is the fact that she managed this huge milestone. After years of fighting Lyme disease and not knowing if she'd ever be able to even make music again, she's finally on tour. Like, she's actually on tour! Just let that sink in...! It's incredible! I honestly hadn't though that it was going to happen this era. I'm super proud of her and I really, really hope that she'll have a great time and stay healthy so that she can tour outside the US soon, and then tour the world again for her next era and her next and so on.

DEFINITELY THIS!!! Btw yeah, she performed KHO live really rare earlier. That's one of my favourite songs from her, so I'm glad to hear it live again And finally R.I.P IAGWIW happened, tho we know Avril enough well to expect that "comeback" on some random concert one more time lol P. S. And one more thing to make me satisfied at all - dear Girl, please just make Head Above Tour more HAWish like it was meant to be

Remember when people called BST a greatest hits show without enough new songs when she played 6/7 new ones and now everyone's hoping for just 2/3 new ones for HAW tour to cover half the album and be fine

I find it weird that she went back to singing the demo lyrics of IWIM "It wasn't in your eyes" I wonder why she did that?
