I kind of am into the '80s inspired horror thing but I don't like the cupcakes, ice cream, skull thing.

Yeah the styles look a bit better than the last line she put out, but come on, if you've been following Avril since the start of her career, you would have been a pre-teen/teenager. So most of her fans are probably young adults/adults now. Anyway, all these logos/pop art and stuff across clothes ain't my cup of tea at all. I would have dug these clothes when i was about 13ish though. Oh well, as long as Avril's having fun with this side project then I hope it goes well for her. I'm guessing us on BA is a small minority. The last collection must have sold pretty well if they released more, and especially more in the same style.

The abbey dawn writing gets bigger and bigger. This style is really outdated and it looks so trashy... Right? I don't get why the 'Abbey Dawn' writing hás to be on every piece of clothing. Surely it's to promote the line but shit, this is too much.

Personally I don't like it when the brand name is so visible. For the most part the Abbey Dawn thing is ok if it suits the design and most people don't know what Abbey Dawn is, plus it is also a street name, so I think it's kind of cool, but I don't like how on some of the pieces it says "by Avril Lavigne."

I think her Alice in Wonderland line was the only one that was well designed (not surprising considering the maturity of Goodbye Lullaby)... MAYBE the unreleased Iron Fist line as well, but the rest have looked like this for almost a decade. To be honest, I really miss Avril's style during Let Go... it felt more genuine and not so cheap, juvanial, or feminine. I really don't understand how somebody's style could change so drastically, especially in 6 years. It makes me nervous for the album, because her hair and eyes in that recent Instagram photo are so ridiculous, I feel like more songs in the vein of Hello Kitty are coming 🙄 I like the T-shirts for men... I would wear them under an oxford or cardigan any day... I wish she offered something more mature than just graphic tees... you know, ACTUAL designs line sweaters, vests, dresses, etc. with interesting cuts and prints instead of focusing solely on a childish graphic like a cupcake 🤔

On top of that I feel like her Let Go style wasn't genuine at all, but part of personal branding.

I have the same personality, attitude, and style, but at an adult level. Let Go Avril and Abbey Dawn Avril are two completely different people... I may have different dimensions to myself, but they've always been present. I'm not sure how cupcake T-shirts are more genuine than baggy shorts... Avril doesn't ever wear crap that's in Abbey Dawn unless she's actually promoting it

I think a lot of the fans have the perception of "if I've never gone through it, it must not be real." Some people stay stagnant their whole life with their likes, dislikes, opinions. and style. Other people change dramatically as they grow up. It's just the way life is for certain people. Avril is one of those people. When I was 17 I wore nothing but black. I didn't care about my appearance, I never used sunblock, I never even really washed my face the way you're supposed to. Now that I'm older I wear super bright pastel colors with crazy accessories, I'm about to dye my hair lavender this month, and I have a whole skincare routine. People I used to go to high school with who I stopped talking to barely recognize me anymore. I don't even really enjoy the same things I used to, and my opinions have changed.
My point is, people change, Avril has changed, and her clothing line is currently reflecting the things she likes now. It's up to you to decide whether you want to be along for that ride or not. No one is forcing you to like, buy, or wear her clothing line. The people who like it will buy it and that's all that matters. It doesn't make her fake for changing.
Also she wore nothing but Abbey Dawn when it was active. Every day. All day. Even for award events. She practically lived in the clothes from her clothing line till she had to stop it in 2013.

I think in the last few years she's become inspired by a lot of the stuff in Japan, maybe she's even trying to cater more to her Asian fans. That's probably why the line has changed so much. I think the style of the line from 2008-2012 ish was pretty good. Once it started getting more kawaii inspired that's when I stopped liking it as much.

The only piece I love from this collection so far is the one with her eyes.

I barely see any difference to the previous collections tbh. Cupcakes, skulls etc all over it again. It's getting kind of annoying now imo. I'm also hoping for some mature clothing since not all of us stick to that "never growing up"-style.

It would have been okay in like 2007.... Hope this isn't a reflection of AL6.
