Some things are just not adding up to me. For one, Complicated still has no certification at all, while Sk8er Boi and I’m with you do. Also, how do we go from 6x platinum (which was also claimed as 6.9m units, only 100k away from 7x) from June 2002-April 2003, yet April 2003-March 2018 is only 7x platinum? It seems awful sketchy to me, but I’m also not sure when the album began to fall down the charts, but either way with streaming added we should be nearing diamond certification by now.

First of all, right now Avril has no record label willing to pay RIAA for certifications. That’s the result of switching labels too often.

I'm curious to find out what it would be just based on sales data. Would LG be at a diamond certification if she had a label willing to pay for it or not? I'm not even sure where to go looking for that sort of thing.

I'm not even sure where to go looking for that sort of thing. Honestly, I don’t think so. I mean, TBDT was her most popular album in the US, Let Go is this pre-streaming era and people who wanted to buy it, bought it and since than there’s rather a decline in pure album sales.

Let Go went diamond in Canada, and that is a tough achievement even for the early 2000s. Diamond in Canada was 1,000,000 units/copies back then, but now it is 800,000.

I’m interested to know what Let Go would be certified if a label paid to update the certifications. The potential of having a Diamond certified album is actually a huge deal as less than 100 albums in history hold that achievement (at least since 2016 as there were only 92 then).
