I thought it would be fun to come up with our own versions of lyrics, even just a couple of lines that would change the original lyrics of some songs. I don't watch TV or movies or sports. I am online a lot and I write my own songs, as well as stories and other things. I spend a fair bit of time on Youtube and music websites learning about all kinds of songs and artists from the classic era (1950s - 1990s). I write lyrics myself, so I often think of what I'd write if the songs were my own. It's just for fun, and I'm not saying my lyrics would be better than the originals, but just different, and I've thought about what I might have written myself. Even though a lot of the songs I like came out way before I was even born, lol. I'm a Huge music fan so I think of stuff like this all the time. If you don't know the songs it's ok. I just picked out a few I've seen and heard online at times and thought about.
The 1st song is called We Built This City by Starship. The lyrics in the chorus go:
Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, don't you remember?
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
My version is:
My lonely days are numbered, listening to the radio, don't you remember?
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
The 2nd song is called Boys Of Autumn by David Roberts. The lyrics are:
Boys will be boys
But whatever happens to the boys of autumn
Boys will be boys
And you won't forget those boys of autumn
My version is:
Boys will be boys
But whatever happens to the boys fathers?
Boys will be boys
But you won't forget those boys fathers
The 3rd song is called Southern Cross by Crosby, Stills and Nash. The lyrics are:
Think about
Think about how many times I have fallen
Spirits are using me, larger voices callin'
What Heaven brought you and me cannot be forgotten
Around the world (I have been around the world)
Lookin' (lookin' for that woman girl)
Who knows she knows (who knows love can endure)
And you know it will
My version would go like this:
Think about
Think about how many times we've all fallen
The Spirit is using me, His tiny voice is calling
What Heaven brought you and me cannot be forgotten
Around the world ( I have been around the world)
Looking for that promised land
Where we know (we know love can endure)
So those are just a few examples I can think of right now. It's just for fun. Post your own if you have any ideas for song lyrics you'd change.
