Heh it really does look like her! That armband looks just like the one she wore in the Complicated video. I know right, she does. Absolutely, that's what I like about it! I found those stock photos about a year ago, and decided to share them here. There were supposed to be another two, but I think they got deleted since I cannot find them anymore.

How do you get a GOOD haircut? For 30 years I've been going to cheap barbers, expensive barbers, and everything in-between. I've never walked out of the shop happy with my haircut. It always takes a few weeks of washing, styling, and even some DIY trimming before it looks how I want it to look... and by then it's time for a haircut again. I've considered cutting it myself. I mean, I already know how to trim it. But it's so much bloody hassle, and I have better things to to than spend several hours in the bathroom. I guess I should be thankful I'm not one of those guys who goes bald at a young age. Still annoying though. I think a lot of the problem is not knowing how to communicate what I want to my barber. "Take an inch off, little longer on top, little longer again in the front, natural neckline, leave the sideburns alone" can apparantly mean many different things to the listener.

^ I haven't been to a barber for years - but whenever I did I pretty much always had the same problem as you; they'd cut it way too short and i'd be so unhappy with my hair I wouldn't feel comfortable in public until it grew longer. I think the only thing i liked about going to the barbers was getting a lollypop after it was all done - gotta encourage kids somehow i suppose; i wasn't complaining But we've had a hairdresser who has cut/dyed my Mum's hair for a very long time and she started out by just doing my Nan's hair - we now go over to my Nan's and she does all of our hair, she's more or less a family friend I'm pretty much always happy with how she does it because she's been cutting my hair for years now and she knows exactly how I want it. I think it's really important to have a hairdresser like that if possible as they get to know what you want over time rather than people who don't know you and just do their best by what you ask. Just my take on it

I'm not a guy so I've never been to a barber and have always had my hair cut by hairdressers, not barbers. So maybe that's the issue? Maybe go to an actual hair salon?

I take a picture of the style I want or a similar style and explain the differences. And I'm pretty much always happy with the result.

"Take an inch off, little longer on top, little longer again in the front, natural neckline, leave the sideburns alone" can apparantly mean many different things to the listener. 25 years ago, my favorite barber retired and I was never satisfied with his replacement. So, I bought a kit and started cutting it myself. I mean, what the hell. I knew how it was done. I'd been watching other people do it to me for over 30 years. The first time, it took a couple of hours. But, it was exactly the way I wanted it and it didn't look like I'd just gotten a haircut. The best part is, I can jump right into the shower, wash my hair and not have to deal with the stray hairs that inevitably end up in my shirt. I use two mirrors. One is positioned vertically at face level. The other is on the opposite wall and slightly higher. Also, it it tilted slightly forward. It is oval shaped. So, I can pivot it to the left or right allowing me to see the back of my head. Now, it takes less time than it took to go to the barber. And, that includes the shower after. I've had several kits over the years. Here is pic of the kit I'm using now. It costs less than the price of two haircuts. I bought it on sale at ALDIs for $13. I actually have no idea what a haircut costs these days.

^way more than $13 anyway. I‘ve had my aunt do my hair since I was a little kid. She’s a professional and there was only one time when someone else cut my fringe. I was so not happy with how it ended. But my aunt has been working more and more at her salon, I guess she’s overworked. My point is over the last 3 years I became less satisfied with the result and ended up cutting my own hair - not that anyone even noticed, apparently it looked just like a pro had done it. But well, going darker with my hair colour at home is no problem but when I wanted to go lighter, I had to face a hairstylist again. Well, I was nervous to say the least, but somehow she gave me the best colour I‘ve gotten professionally in my life and she gave me such a good cut that I didn’t dare to go close to it with my scissors. Somehow it just fell so much better. So when I went back a couple of months later we did it just like we did it back in April. I‘d sit in the chair, facing the mirror any my stylist would stand behind me, showing be how much split ends just need to go and I‘d tell her to make it a bit shorter. I guess the key is that she shows me how much before she cuts it. So when I say a bit shorter she doesn’t cut off 2 inches more. And trust me, when there’s one thhing about my appearance that I‘m hella picky about it‘s my hair.

"Take an inch off, little longer on top, little longer again in the front, natural neckline, leave the sideburns alone" can apparantly mean many different things to the listener. Well it's much easier when you've got naturally messy hair like mine lol. For some time- when I was 18-20- I tried to let it grow so it would fall down to the neck height but my hair wouldn't do it. It just grew bigger and bigger in all directions except downwards. Funnily enough it's not even curly or frizzy. Just rebel and rnr and punk like video games so it always looks better when I have it cut . Now seriously I understand the struggle. I've been to the same barber for 10+ years and he's been doing the same haircut-all I tell him is "trim it shorter". Once he went on holidays and I needed a haircut-like now, before my grandmother saw me. My mother took me to the saloon where she used to go. Trim it shorter, please , I told the girl. I ended up looking something midways Eminem and Bruce Willis. That day I also had to go pick up my grades at school-it was the beginning of summer holidays- and I wore a cap inside the school halls so nobody saw my nearly bald head-which was against the dress code. The headmaster caught me and told me to take it off. I had to. He looked at me without uttering a word for a full minute. Then he told me to put it on again and not to remove it until I was out of the school. I think he feared other parents would think I was a junior racist gang member or something . My grandma wasn't a fan either. A total catch 22.

According to me? It's always sad when somebody has to fake their own identity by assuming another. It's the complete opposite of why we love Avril in the first place............Originality. Happy?

You should check out Samantha Bower. She's in a band called Escape December. She looks like Avril, sings like Avril, dresses like Avril, talks like Avril, has the same mannerisms as Avril, is in denial about ripping off Avril. At least she doesn't have the same tattoos as Avril in the same places, Single White Female style. There IS a line to be crossed apparently.
