Avril Lavigne Nominated for the 2022 MTV VMAsAvril Lavigne fondly remembers the night she won her first ever award, which was the MTV Video Music Award for "Best New Artist," way back in 2002. Twenty years later, Avril is back on the nominations list, with not one, but two nods in the category for Best Alternative Video! Alongside her collaboration with blackbear called "Love It When You Hate Me," the second single off her latest album Love Sux, she is also nominated for last year's feature with WILLOW on "G R O W" with label head Travis Barker.
