Gilmore Girls is getting a reboot on Netflix. The reboot will be aired as four 90-minute episodes/movies in which each will represent a different season of the year (Spring, Summer, Winter, Fall) and will take place in present time. Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson will be reprising their roles as Lorelei, Rory, Emily, and Luke, respectively. The show's creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, will be the one creating the reboot. She was absent for the final season of the show, which is partly why it ended so disappointingly. The reboot is said to get the ending the show originally deserved - a phrase of four words that Amy planned for the show's end all along. No dates have been released.
Was anyone a fan of the original show? Are you excited for the show to be revived?

I'm usually very skeptical about reboots, but let's see how this will turn out. I'll definitely watch it! I was a fan when I was in pre-school, first and second grade. My dad picked me up and when I was done with homework we'd watch Gilmore Girls. Two fangirls in front of the TV with cake. When I have a day off I sometimes watch it. Reminds me of the good old times before I had responsibilities

Gilmore Girls was an after-school tv show for me as well. There was a tv channel that would reruns of an entire series of a show and then switch to a different show. After so long, the tv shows would circle back around and their reruns would air again. I remember that Gilmore Girls filled the 5:00 time slot.
Good childhood memories.

Oh wow, I just heard that for the first time! I remeber watching an interview they did for - a film festival it was I think - and discussing the possibility of shooting some sort of reboot. I can't believe they actually got it through. I used to be a fan when I was little (yeah, time flies like shit), rewachted it a while ago and couldn't relate to it as much, but nevertheless I'm excited now. I think I'll waste my time watching that reboot when there's any chance of getting around Netflix. I'm most excited for Rory, I think you could easily guess where Lorely stands now by watching the final episode.

I can't wait for this reboot. There's a lot of possibility that I guess pending how the upcoming 4 do, there may be more episodes to follow? Regardless, season 7 was in many ways a big let down to the fans who followed the previous 6 seasons and I can't wait to see what Stars Hollow has been up too. What do you guys think of the title? Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life? I liked the shorter working title better lol.

I'm definitely excited for the reboot! I watched all episodes on Netflix some time ago and just loved how amazing the series was! I didn't think season 7 was as bad as many make it out to be, but I do feel it had its moments where it dragged on.
