Who else is excited for the new Star Wars movie? It was released just yesterday. I really want to see it but I think every show will be sold out for awhile, so I probably won't get to see it for like 2 weeks or more. If you've seen the movie, please share what you think, but try not to reveal any spoilers! I'm kind of torn between wanting to be spoiled and not.  I've heard that the film is really good, up to par with the originals and way better than the prequels. |

Critics are praising it, but I'm seeing more mixed feelings from the general public (not hardcore Star Wars nerds, just people in general). Some say it's just fan service and basically a remake of the original, others say it's like the best thing ever. But I'll decide for myself as soon as I get to see it. It'll be hard to top Mad Max Fury Road as movie of the year, that's for sure. |

I get what you're saying. You're right. I'm not much of a star wars fan (I just don't get C3P0 and the wolfie? hanging around??). I generally like all sorts of movie except maybe horror - not that I'm scared but more like i find them off-putting. |

C3PO is one of the best characters! And I think you're referring to Chewie? He's not a wolf, he's a Wookie, which was based on George Lucas's dog, but it's not a dog, it's its own species in the Star Wars universe. Chewie is Han Solo's faithful sidekick. |

I am not a Star Wars fan at all but I decided to watch this one and I loved it. Like I really enjoyed it, even though I expected it be boring. My favorite film from this year so far is still Mad Max.

The problem with the prequels had nothing to do with Jar Jar Binks. Those somewhat famous Plinkett reviews explain what's wrong with the prequels better than I can. You can Google them, but you MUST be able to appreciate their dark and strange sense of humor before you watch them. But as long as you're not easily offended, they're far more entertaining than the actual movies.
I still haven't seen Episode VII. At this rate, I'm going to be one of the few. :/
