Am I the only one not knowing what else is going on this week when it comes to other artists? In my experience the song is doing really well and people are talking about her a lot lol - plus I don't see anything going wrong promo wise?

TO MY NEW SONG Hi marliz., Wow, I didn't know you made music. I have listened to 'Ignore It' 3 times and I really like it, you did a great job! I love your voice. I can't even imagine how difficult it must be to make your own music, but you have made a really beautiful song and I'm really impressed by it. Well done marliz., well done! Thank you so much!!

I spammed my radio station like a crazy person today and at 6:30PM they called me back so I can introduce Bite Me!! This never happened for me before so yay!!!! They asked a few questions like for how long I was a fan and how often I already have been listening to Bite Me! So first station who played it in The Netherlands cause of me! 😃 it was 3FM (Dutch radio station) ohh that's so funny!! how did they react? I feel like Dutch radio stations only play Avril for the sake of nostalgia and don't really care about her new music ever

wait look at them using a drone for the performance that's actually pretty fucking cool i loved the performance!! the only thing I noticed is that she didn't have anyone doing backing vocals, that's kinda sad. however if they sound like the guy in the last band maybe she's better off without them. I know this is all pre-recorded and stuff but I wonder what her band will look and sound like when it's actually live also the guitar 2:16 is awkward LMAO. Editor could've at least cut it out after the jump so you don't see he's actually not strumming the chords afterwards

But how has her voice completely changed? It really comes down to the vocal production a lot more than you think. Listen to the TBDT album for example, her voice sounds very similar to Bite Me, because in loud Pop-Punk songs they will usually be way more compressed and cleaner whereas with songs like on HAW, you want them to sound more raw and real because the production and sound of these songs are completely different. in TBDT she was clearly singing with a higher larynx position (don't know the exact term in english) which makes your voice brigther and higher. She toned that voice down for many live performances but it was still there and it was also a result of vocal training which allowed her to hit the high note better. From HAW and on, her voice got affected by Lyme and it's not her pitch or how high she sings or how bright. No. It's her tone, the timber, the texture of her voice changed to a more nasal tone. The first HAW performance when we all though she had a cold? that voice. It could've been also a training process since she said she worked with a lyme vocal couch and maybe she was trying to not hurt her voice since that extreme nasal tone is not THAT noticeable as in that performance...BUT it's still there. And also, with age for some woman is normal to get higher voices. (at least i heard a vocal couch saying that). Anyway, my point is that the "critique" of her voice being "over-processed" in Bite Me is not really a great "critique" since ALL her songs have voice processing. How is Bite Me more over processed than HTGU or RnR? 2013, when the clean-perfection voice was at it's peak. I just think that some people confuses her nasal tone with being over processed. I listen to a lot of kpop and there is where you have the MOST clean vocals and processed voices you could ever hear. 100% perfection and some of them are VERY noticeable. In Avril's case I don't think is THAT noticeable. Yes, it sounds crisp and bright and almost perfect, but that's your standard radio song and maybe apart from Why, all her soungs sound the same except one little change: her nasal tone. I haven't seen too many people complaining about her voice being over porcessed untill her new voice appeared and I don't think all the producers she had since then use the same technique and purposefully make her sound like that. form HAW producers to whoever produced WAW and Lean on Me to Tommee Profit, to Feldman? It seems like a too big coincidence for me. Which only leaves one explanation: her nasal tone. But again, that's just my opinion. If some of you think her voice is too porcessed THEN i guess it's like that for you and that can't be changed, IDK. I'm not the biggest fan either of "how her voice sounds" but in my case, i blame Lyme, not the producers which clearly know how to do their work. I'm not sure what HAW performance you're talking about. I know she sings in a different tone/timbre than on HAW, but that's not neseccarily a complete voice change though, just a difference way of singing and approaching a song. I mean HAW was also recorded áfter she got diagnosed with Lyme so I'm confused why you think Lyme is the reason for her voice change? However I think the people who find Bite Me vocals to be overly processed can also agree with me on thinking the same about RNR & HTNGU vocals and they are definitely also more processed than any HAW song, I wasn't a fan of that either but at the same time it also doesn't bother me and I'll get used to it. There's no right or wrong way when it comes to the vocal production, every producer has their own preference and like I said I think it's very genre-related as well. It all comes down to personal preference anyways.

The last weeks I spent a lot of time mixing my own song and compared it with pop/pop-punk music, and I noticed with this genre & with pop music in general, the mix and vocals tend to be more present in the mid/high range of the frequency spectrum. And like you said, pitch correction has a downside of making vocals sound a specific way, especially when you remove a lot of the vibrato it'll sound even more nasally. I just listened to some HAW songs and I feel like the clear difference is that on HAW, they left a lot of vibrato in her voice and so it doesn't sound as nasal as Bite Me, where basically all vibrato has been removed lol But HAW was recorded WAY before Love me insane for example. aka, haw was recorded before her voice completely changed.
