I finally got the chance to listen to the song for a second time (it's been a very busy day, I barely managed to make time to be here for the premiere and listen to the interview...). It's even better the second time around. But I do definitely hear some pitch correction on Avril's voice. Just this past weekend, I watched a video of someone explaining and showing the differences between vocals with and without pitch correction. And there's just this specific sound that pitch correction creates, and I can hear that in "Bite Me". That doesn't mean everyone can hear it. After all, everyone's hearing is different. But to me, her vocals sound pitch-corrected. However, it doesn't bother me too much. I don't think it ruins the song, since it's a fun, loud, fast, energetic song anyway, rather than an emotional, slow ballad. And I also don't think pitch correction is always bad. Pretty much everyone uses it nowadays. I personally still prefer vocals to be as "raw" as possible, but for this song, it's fine. I can also hear this same processing on Avril's voice as was used in "Flames". Was it a high- or a low-pitch filter? But I think her voice doesn't sound nearly as nasal as in some HAW songs. The nasality is there, but honestly, I didn't even notice it until I actively paid attention to it.Apart from that, I think Avril's vocal performance is amazing. I can feel her energy and enthusiasm, which is something "Flames" and some other songs during the past few eras were kinda lacking. I love how she's showing off her range without overdoing it. That high note at the end of the bridge really caught me off guard. I'm not the biggest fan of the repetitiveness of the bridge, but it's that which led me to expect the second part of the bridge to be the same as the first. But I was wrong. Lyrically, yes, it's the same, but that high note - damn! Overall, I'm really quite happy with the song. I'm so glad to finally have this pop-punk sound back. I've missed hearing loud guitar and REAL drums in Avril's songs so much! I'm so glad this genre is making a comeback, so Avril can finally do what the labels didn't really let her do for the past 3 eras. And Travis on the drums is killing it. I've also watched the interview, though I clearly missed some parts because I didn't hear her mentioning a 2nd single at all, lol. But I haven't enjoyed an interview with Avril this much in a long time. She finally seems to have her passion back. She seems just as stoked as we are to release the new music and play it live. She didn't seem unwilling to talk about the songwriting process. She just seemed... free. Like, when she looked at her manager (I assume) to ask if she was allowed to reveal that one song title, but then she was just like "eh, why not?" This interview and the new song reminded me why I fell in love with Avril all these years ago. I feel like this Avril has slowly been taken from us during the 2010s, but now, a decade later, she's finally back doing the things she's actually been wanting to do this whole time. I hope I'm not pitching my hopes too high, but I have a good feeling about this era, and I'm really looking forward to what the next couple of months are going to bring us. The last weeks I spent a lot of time mixing my own song and compared it with pop/pop-punk music, and I noticed with this genre & with pop music in general, the mix and vocals tend to be more present in the mid/high range of the frequency spectrum. And like you said, pitch correction has a downside of making vocals sound a specific way, especially when you remove a lot of the vibrato it'll sound even more nasally. I just listened to some HAW songs and I feel like the clear difference is that on HAW, they left a lot of vibrato in her voice and so it doesn't sound as nasal as Bite Me, where basically all vibrato has been removed lol

I'm on page 41 right now, AND i swear to God what you're hearing is NOT autotune. It's her nasal voice. She got sick, her voice changed, it's not coming back, get over it. Autotune is NEVER that obvious unless they want it to be, and in this case I really doubt they wanted the autotune effect. Is her voice processed? Yes, to sound as clean and on pitch as possible but she's not Selena or J.Lo. She freaking knows how to hit a note and stay on tune, she doesn't need that much autotne rather than just to polish the song. What you're hearing is her new voice. I can't even write about the song 'cause the "autotune is too much" is getting me on my nerves xD like no offense but...xD When people mention "autotune", they're talking about how overly processed her vocals are. It's just an easy word to use for these kind of things. And yes, her voice is nasal and all but her vocals ARE very heavily processed and pitch corrected and it's very noticeable at some points.

really? putting on repeat doesn't count for multiple streams? nope so let’s be cautious and make sure avril gets the most of streams Pff Spotify is such a piece of shit. Whenever I like a song I get addicted and always play it on repeat, and they don't even reward the artists for creating a bop...

Bite Me is great on repeat. But remember adding some space between listens gives her streams 🤠 really? putting on repeat doesn't count for multiple streams?

Also, I like the melody of the 2nd verse so much more than the first one! I feel like the melody when she sings "now it's over" in the first verse has been over-used so much lately, especially in Pop-Punk and Travis collabs :')

Now that the whole album will be pop-punk they will probably stop putting Bad Reputation as a bonus track there. i.gifer.com/GV0Y.gifthis gif

I really like this, it's an interesting blend of alternative with and a little touch of pop punk.
I have always thought that a blend of some sort, like perhaps a mix of 2 different genres like alternative and pop punk, would/could be a great direction that Avril perhaps explore and/or move towards.
yeah agree! that song is actually a remix by Travis Barker, the original is really good as well:

Even though I'm tempted to, I don't wanna listen to this snippet too often, or I'll be tired of it before the song is even released.
