I watched The Legend of Korra and I surprisingly really liked it. I was on the fence about for a really long time because I liked Avatar a lot and I was worried that Korra wouldn't be able to live up to Avatar and that I wouldn't like the new/different characters. I was a little disappointed with the finale though. I think it was a great opportunity for a network like Nickelodeon to display a same-sex relationship, but I don't it was very deserving to be the finale. It would have been perfect as a season finale in which case another season could have came after and concluded the show deservingly, but I don't think the finale was good enough as the series finale. And I don't think it was good enough to be the series finale because I felt like it was a cliffhanger; it didn't bring back anything. A good finale reminds the viewer of the show's premise and bring back old characters and bring together friends.
Avatar's finale was great in my opinion. All of the friends helped each other save the world and planned to embark on their next adventures together. In Korra, everyone was going their separate ways. I realize that in some shows, people end up going on their own separate adventures in the end, but I feel like the characters on this show should have stayed together. In season 1, Korra met these people that became her close friends. The finale just makes it seems like Korra abandons everyone except Asami.

Maybe she shouldn't skip singles altogether, but she shouldn't keep playing he same singles over and over. Even though Complicated and Sk8er Boi launched her career and Girlfriend was her biggest hit, she should stray away from these. Or better yet, rather than keeping certain singles on or off the set list, she should alter it and play different singles for different shows.
You're right that singles are important for her to play, but not only should her set lists not consist of all singles, it shouldn't consist of the same singles all of the time.

On her next tour, instead of singles, Avril should play songs that she's never played live before. Since they would have never been played live before, those songs would probably give more hype to the tour than the singles would (at least to long term fans).
Mix that with the new material from the next album, and the entire set list would basically be all new material, in a sense.

I really like her new single "Cool For The Summer". It just came out today. It's a great summer song; I think it will do well.

I'd love new music sooner rather than later, but I'm really excited to see Avril do some acting (assuming she does some). Basically anything Avril is good!

It takes time. A friend of mine are still recovering after 3 years. Have been in activity for 2 years tho But if she looks this good and is doing this good now while only midway through treatment, then she is really going #kickass when she's 100% again. She's come such a long way already. With this new information I think she might finish her treatment in the first quarter of 2016.

I understand how a greatest hits album could count as an album for a contract; but I was saying that it wouldn't be a 'studio' album. In that case, an artist might not get away with something like that if their contract was more defined than something as generic as 'album'. Thanks for your post

I was a little surprised to hear her say that she's only half way through her treatment. I thought she would have been more further along than that.

A Christmas album would be a studio album, but it would be her 6th studio album; we wouldn't refer to it as album 6. Christmas albums don't have several singles, heavy promo, and headlining tours. And a greatest hits album wouldn't be a studio album at all; it's a complication album. I'm not aware of any instances in which an artist has released a greatest hits album to fulfill their contract for a studio album, or how greatest hits album would suffice in such a situation. I'm sure it's been done and it's very possible, but a greatest hits album doesn't classify as a studio album.

I don't think the GYWYL video was really a passion project. It seemed like she did it because she promised it and she knew that fans were disappointed when the video didn't come, so she felt she needed to fulfill her promise. And a Christmas album wouldn't count as the sixth album.
But I do agree that a Christmas could very well come before the sixth album. She does seem to be scratching off items on her bucket list and doing things that she has wanted to do for a long time. Hopefully she will give details about her upcoming plane during the GMA interview.

Part of the reason that GL didn't do as well as the first 3 albums are the single choices. The singles weren't bad songs, but they poorly represented the entire album. All of the GL singles, which were produced by Max Martin, were very pop and were only about a ¼ of the album. The other ¾ of GL were different. And with digital stores (and streaming services) being the main way that people get there music, anyone can preview all the tracks before purchasing.
It's not like in the early and mid-2000s when the first 3 albums came out and you had to buy a cd at a store and listen to it after buying it (with the exception of those cd scanners/preview-players in certain stores). Even if all three singles were equally promoted and all promoted well, that wouldn't change that GL was an album with an EP of really-pop songs thrown into it. If the singles made people want to buy the album, just by previewing the tracks, they could be turned off because it's not what they were expecting.
