All discussion about Taylor Swift goes here.
What do you think about 1989? Her new video for Style?
I personally love 1989 and think it's her best album yet. I didn't really like the video for Style, in my head I imagined something totally different, like Taylor driving in a convertible down the highway in California and they could have used a vintage filter. That's kind of how I pictured it, so I didn't like what they actually did it with at all.

I imagined a video similar to that as well! Didn't expect the video to be what it was. It's a pretty good music video; I know that it already has over 100 million views on vevo.
Style doesn't seem to be doing quite as well as Shake It Off or Blank Space had, so I hope she makes a good decision on the 4th single.

For me the video just seemed too focused on "look at what we can do with all these special effects," instead of telling the story of the song. It was like it had nothing to do with the song at all. Usually later singles don't do as well as the first and second singles because most people have the album already, so that could be why.

I really liked the Style video. Yeah, it doesn't really tell anything but it was dreamy just like the song. I don't care if it didn't reach #1 (good if it does) but as long it becomes Platinum, I'm happy (and it did).
As for the next single, I personally want All You Had to Do Was Stay. I can't tell if it will be hit but I really want a video. Out of the Woods could also have a great video. Whatever she chooses, please don't let it be I Know Places. I'm not really feeling that song like I used to.

I think Bad Blood or Wildest Dreams have single potential. Maybe I Wish You Would too. How You Get the Girl. Ok almost every song has single potential.

I'm leaning toward All You Had To Was Stay too, and How You Get The Girl but I'm not sure how well they would do. To me, they seems like songs that would do really well, but both of those songs are sort of similar to 22 which didn't do well compared to WANEGBT or I Knew You Were Trouble.
But no matter what happens, Taylor has already had two #1's and third successful single from 1989. So even if her other singles completely flop (which they probably won't), she has had amazing success with this album already, including the fact that the album itself as a whole stayed at #1 for so long.

I think in comparison to how a lot of other singers are doing in the industry (like Avril, for example), the fact Taylor had a #1, platinum-selling album (in one week) with 2 #1 singles, that is already far more success than anyone could have imagined. She is truly lucky to still be selling so big in this industry. Usually with more and more albums, artists sell less and less, but Taylor just keeps selling more every time. So even if she only had one #1 hit or her album was only #1 for a short time, people would still consider that a big success in today's market. She is doing absolutely fine. I'm sure the tour will be grand too.

I've always liked Taylor's singles but 1989 is the first album of hers I've listened to all the way through and bought - I think it's amazing haha, probably one of the best albums I own. Wildest Dreams is probs my fave but honestly I can't really find fault with any of the songs. New Swift fan here...!

First, the Style video wasn't what I imagined either. I had the same idea in my head like you all said above. But I also know there are music videos far worse, so I don't complain about that. (and no, whenever I need an example I can't think of one...) And secondly, I really think that 1989 is a great album. A friend at school asked me if I had lost my sanity because I went from store to store just to find the deluxe version with those 3 extra songs (and I bought 3 CDs when I was in the US back in February, my friend completely lost it, she didn't know what to say and just looked at me with big eyes )

Bad move. It will definitely get a lot of attention, which means it will become a hit. But on the other hand, the media will create more drama between her and Katy Perry.

Felt a sudden connection with "This Love". My life has been crappy since the last two days, except for short moments of immense joy and this song gave me life. I am not going to ignore it anymore.

I used to think This Love was boring but then it grew on me. It's a beautifully subtle song.

I love or like this album. It came out when a very hard time began for me and the only songs that I lost myself in are Wildest Dreams, This Love, Clean and You Are In Love. I also love Bad Blood, Blank Space, Welcome To New York, Style, Shake It Off, I Know Places and Wonderland but i'm Not in the mood for them right now or the last 3 or 4 months.
I think This Love would be a good choice for a single and maybe Wildest Dreams.
