Just wanted to admit I’ve probably sung along to no body, no crime 50+ times in the past couple 10 days thinking yesssss Este get that cheating fucker and I’ve just realised today Este doesn’t even kill anyone and in fact gets killed herself lmao but well done Este’s pal for revenge I’m usually a sucker for lyrics and meanings too so clearly it’s just so much of a banger I got completely distracted it's a bop. It's the only song from evermore that keeps playing. The story reminds me of this murder case of a woman who disappeared on 9/11. Her rich husband has been to jail multiple times and keeps getting out. His name is...wait for it...Calvin Harris. A body was never found. www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna579536Ooh gonna give that a read!

I really like the ElVIRA remix of willow. The original is nice but for a Sunday morning drive in the early sunlight.

Maybe we shouldn't choose cause they're sister albums but I have a slight feeling I like Evermore a bit better than Folklore. But both are very very amazing!

I just listened to evermore again last night (haven't played it much honestly 'cause I just haven't had much time for listening to music these days and it's a long album). I was trying to decide which album I liked better, I thought it was folklore too, but when comparing each track with each other, I ended up with 8/17 songs I prefer on folklore and 9/17 I prefer on evermore, so they're basically about even for me I guess. There's a batch of great songs on both albums.

I think I prefer folklore. It has more favorites. There's only 3 songs I can't stand to listen to at all. Compared to Evermore which has more songs I can't stand. But Evermore does have long story short and gold rush. I think those songs are her best from her 2020 cottage project.
I think I would like her to go back to pop Taylor after this. I like how creative she's been and her lyrics are outstanding. But folksy/indie Taylor is not my favorite Taylor.

I came to the conclusion that I only dislike 1 song on Evermore while I have 4/5 on Folklore that aren’t my cup of tea. And 2 of them have strong lyrics but I don’t like the melody/music. But the ones I do like in Folklore really are one of the best songs she’s ever made I think so it’s a really strong album too.
I really love this style of her but I prefer something new too for her next album. If she would only make albums like these it would get a bit boring I guess.

I think she always makes albums that reflect where she’s at in her life (rep was dark for example, Lover was happy again, now we have these albums which are more quiet and introspective). Once COVID sort of starts disappearing, I could see her returning to something more like Lover again. Once live shows can start happening again, I think she knows she needs upbeat stuff to play and that as much as these albums would sound great live, they don’t suit a stadium show and would put everyone to sleep.
This year I can see her focusing more on the re-recordings than a 10th album. I don’t think she wants a repeat of 2016 where she was so overexposed that everyone just started getting sick of her. She’s already put out 2 albums in one year. She denied the trilogy theory so I guess we won’t be getting a third part to this project, which might be the best thing so she doesn’t risk overexposure. After the Grammys, I see her laying low for a while and focusing on the re-recordings. Maybe they’ll be released this year with some new merch and stuff. Then maybe next year we’ll get the 10th album and I think there’s a good chance live shows can start happening again in 2022.

I agree but I hope it's not like Lover. Majority of the songs felt childish. I was not into that album besides the good songs like Cruel Summer, Afterglow, Daylight, Cornelia Street(acoustic), Death By A Thousand Cuts (acoustic was better), False God, Miss Americana... actually nevermind I'm naming a lot of the album lmao
Btw Paper Rings = long story short ?

I mean that I think she’ll make another album like Lover in the sense that it’s her catchy pop songs that she’s known for, like more songs like Cruel Summer or The Man, and have a light, cheery aesthetic. But who knows, it’s Taylor. She always zigs when everyone expects her to zag and she never makes the exact same album twice. Even evermore has some differences from folklore.

I was listening to a podcast where they said maybe she'd go back to making country music. But an older version of Taylor Swift since her new albums have some country vibes. And how she proved with folklore and evermore that she did not need radio to continue making music. Apparently, on Miss Americana she talked about getting to an age where they will stop playing her on the radio.

I totally agree with you, Lover felt a bit all over the place. A lot of songs felt indeed childish but the ones you named were good! But still it’s not an album I go back to a lot. Afterglow, Cornelia Street were the best songs to me I think. Cruel Summer, Miss Americana are also nice but since I’m an album listener I have to skip quite a few on Lover.

Omg I played Lover on shuffle and when I started to feel like I was towards the end, I checked the queue but only half the album had been played 😌 it's too freaking long.
