Yes, I was saying that I wonder if it was possible if Sparks Fly originally had a co-writer and was therefore partly a reason why she rewrote some of it.
When she was performing it live back in 2007, they weren’t just acoustic performances. They were fully arranged with a full band; and that just made me think that the song as a whole could have had more people involved in its creation. Obviously Taylor had help getting the song arranged for a full band, but it made me think it could have possibly had a co-writer. Same with permanent marker. She was doing full band performances of that song back then as well.

If there was another writer on it originally, they would have only had to have helped with lyrics in order to not get any credit. I don’t think it’s that hard to believe she could have written it herself though? She had written plenty of songs on her own before Speak Now.

And about evermore song, to me it feels like it's a story about how she had a prolonged period (from July to at least November) of an internal struggle, she felt "unmoored" and kept going back to some moment when something that she regrets happened. The part with her and Vernon singing seems to be a lot about struggling to get through mentally, and that she relied on someone or something by keeping them (or it) in her thoughts, as sort of an anchor, a buoy to get her through the worst of it. I think Taylor puts a lot of different stories and topics into a lot of her songs, but I think this one's main plot hints at some sort of more recent personal mental struggle maybe? I'm not sure though, maybe I'm just projecting my own situation too much onto it, ha. I always thought she was referencing the drama from 2016 and that Joe was basically the person she relied on to get her through it. I think she said for hoax that there's references to multiple people/events or something similar, and I think that maybe evermore similarly includes her feelings from different situations, though I could be wrong, it's just my speculation :-).

Interesting shes put Hoax on a chapter with all Evermore songs. I’ve seen a few people suggest Hoax is Champagne Problems from the guys POV. I mean we’ll likely never know, but I like the idea. It does fit quite well.

Might depend when each song was written though, if she didn’t quite know when she was going to continue writing songs. I think she said hoax is about many different things, both real and fictional.

It does fit quite well. That would explain why I was obsessed with listening to hoax around the same time that I was getting into champagne problems. Hey I've been meaning to ask have any of you noticed if other artists do these EP style playlists? I first saw Taylor do it then Halsey and now Little Big Town. Also why not just make special playlists?

FINALLY after about 5 long months of waiting, I finally got my folklore blanket that I ordered back in August lol
It is honestly a much nicer quality blanket than I was expecting, considering it was only $10. I thought it would be one of those cheap, thin, flimsy fleece blankets but it's a lot thicker than I was expecting and has a good weight to it. It's quite heavy and IMO seems like really good quality. The print is nice. It also came with a couple bonuses, I'm guessing to make up for the huge delay with orders. It came with a few postcards with pictures from the evermore album shoot on them and 3 evermore guitar picks! Super cool!
I'm really happy to finally get the blanket and to have a couple things from the folklore era. Especially since it was only for Capital One customers, so not everyone was able to get one, and you really can't beat the price either - especially with free shipping! So even though the long wait was frustrating, it ended up being so worth it IMO since the quality of the product exceeded my expectations. Plus bonus gifts!
This is now my collection of items for each era:
TS/debut era: Bonus track edition of the CD, karaoke edition, and the Christmas EP
Fearless: Standard edition of the album, karaoke edition, and Journey to Fearless DVD
Speak Now: Standard edition of CD, karaoke edition, and Speak Now World Tour live CD/DVD. Also the Wonderstruck and Wonderstruck Enchanted fragrances
Red: Standard edition of the album, karaoke edition, and an unauthorized magazine called Seeing Red that is all about the Red album and stuff about Taylor's career up to that point
1989: Target deluxe edition of the album with a set of collectible polaroid photos and the karaoke edition. I also have this gigantic book about her called "This is Our Song" that was sort of a "by fans for fans" kind of thing that I want to say was published before reputation but after 1989. I also have a sample size of the Incredible Things perfume.
reputation: Target deluxe edition of the album with volume 1 of the magazine, karaoke edition, limited edition hardcover "reputation" book, reputation tour official tour book, and the Taylor Swift edition of Rolling Stone magazine that was published after rep but before Lover. It has all kinds of trivia, quizzes, and a ranking of her discography in it, among other stuff.
Lover: Target deluxe edition journal #1 of the album, Lover heart keychain
folklore: Autographed deluxe edition #1 "in the trees" edition of the album, I had an unsigned one previously but donated it once I got the signed copy. Also now have the folklore Capital One blanket
evermore: Don't have a physical copy of the album yet as I'm waiting to see if she will release signed copies again. For now, I don't have any evermore merch except for the postcards and guitar picks I got with my blanket.

I just watched this special she did years ago when Speak Now came out. I had seen clips of it before, but never watched the special in its entirety. It's really great to see all the ideas she and her team came up with to get fans involved and do special things with her music and live performances to gain attention or get fans involved. I feel like that is one of the reasons why she became so successful because she always pushed the envelope with creative ideas and thought outside the box. It's a really cool special if you haven't seen it before.

So last night I finished listening to a playlist I made of all her discography and man, she just has the most flawless body of work ever! Even the albums I’d put more towards the bottom are still good. I think this is how I’d ultimately rank her albums after listening to them all again:
1989 evermore Red folklore Speak Now Lover reputation Fearless Taylor Swift
Red and folklore are both close for me though. I love folklore but it’s a bit too sad of an album for me to want to play all the time, it’s emotionally kind of a heavy album, and even though I think it’s better written, I think I like evermore just a bit more due to having some happier songs on it. I had to throw Red into the top 3 just because it’s so damn good. From Speak Now upwards any of those albums are all superb. I like any of the albums from Lover onwards, they’re just not my absolute faves.

I’d go with..
Speak Now Folklore Taylor Swift Fearless Evermore Red Reputation Lover 1989
Just based off how often i listen to them. They’re all fantastic. I just feel like I have to be in the right mood for rep/lover/1989

Ergh I love this guy. He does pop punk covers of country songs and country covers of pop punk song (amongst others). They’re my two favourite genres so I think he’s great lol. Anyway he did Love Story ages ago but he’s added a few from Folklore. He’s so good he makes you think they were always meant to be that genre. I’ve added the country version of Make Damn Sure too, irrelevant to Taylor obv but I think it’s perfect lol.

That's really cool! I've been going over a lot of Taylor's older music and thought that she'd fit into pop punk very easily. Some other country songs by other artists too would fit the pop punk genre. Make Damn Sure, glad you added that one too. This guy is awesome. Gonna give him a follow
