I'm totally in love with the new sound effects they put in the Bad Blood single. When I bought 1989 I thought it was an 'okay' song, but now with the single out, I catch myself listening it more and more (album and single version).
Overall, 1989 is my favourite album of hers. It has a different sound than the previous ones, but I like it a lot.

I like her album a lot too! First album from her I'm listening to You should try the others too. When I was in the US in February and bought three CD the girl at the checkout said that Speak Now was her personal favourite. And I have to say my list of favourite songs of hers includes songs from every album.

At first I didn't really like the Speak Now album but after a few listens it grew on me too. I think each album Taylor puts out is better than her last.

To Apple, Love Taylor
I write this to explain why I’ll be holding back my album, 1989, from the new streaming service, Apple Music. I feel this deserves an explanation because Apple has been and will continue to be one of my best partners in selling music and creating ways for me to connect with my fans. I respect the company and the truly ingenious minds that have created a legacy based on innovation and pushing the right boundaries.
I’m sure you are aware that Apple Music will be offering a free 3 month trial to anyone who signs up for the service. I’m not sure you know that Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months. I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company.
This is not about me. Thankfully I am on my fifth album and can support myself, my band, crew, and entire management team by playing live shows. This is about the new artist or band that has just released their first single and will not be paid for its success. This is about the young songwriter who just got his or her first cut and thought that the royalties from that would get them out of debt. This is about the producer who works tirelessly to innovate and create, just like the innovators and creators at Apple are pioneering in their field…but will not get paid for a quarter of a year’s worth of plays on his or her songs.
These are not the complaints of a spoiled, petulant child. These are the echoed sentiments of every artist, writer and producer in my social circles who are afraid to speak up publicly because we admire and respect Apple so much. We simply do not respect this particular call.
I realize that Apple is working towards a goal of paid streaming. I think that is beautiful progress. We know how astronomically successful Apple has been and we know that this incredible company has the money to pay artists, writers and producers for the 3 month trial period… even if it is free for the fans trying it out.
Three months is a long time to go unpaid, and it is unfair to ask anyone to work for nothing. I say this with love, reverence, and admiration for everything else Apple has done. I hope that soon I can join them in the progression towards a streaming model that seems fair to those who create this music. I think this could be the platform that gets it right.
But I say to Apple with all due respect, it’s not too late to change this policy and change the minds of those in the music industry who will be deeply and gravely affected by this. We don’t ask you for free iPhones. Please don’t ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation.

| | Apple Reverses Policy After Taylor Swift Open Letter
Apple senior executive Eddy Cue announced on Twitter that Apple Music will pay artists during the service’s free, three-month trial period. The reversal of policy comes one day after Taylor Swift wrote an indictment of Apple Music on Tumblr titled “Dear Apple, Love Taylor.”
“We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists,” Cue wrote on Twitter. “Love, Apple.”In an interview with Billboard, Cue said it was Swift’s letter that spurred the company to make its decision. “When I woke up this morning and saw what Taylor had written, it really solidified that we needed a change,” Cue said. “And so that’s why we decide we will now pay artists during the trial period.”
“I am elated and relieved,” Swift wrote on Twitter after the news broke. “Thank you for your words of support today. They listened to us.” |

I'm quite addicted to her 1989 album now, I also watched some songs of 1989 she performed live and she's really good live! I also checked some songs of her previous records but It'll take a few more listenings to create an opinion about them

When I first saw this on TV I joked to my parents saying that this was que equivalent of a second American Civil War and that the world wasn't ready for such a clash of titans :lol1: Anyways, I have to say that this time I could see her point, regardless of my opinions about the music industry, and it was nice of her that he spoke in behalf of the small, new artists, and that she was honest enough to admit that that money was peanuts to her-something obvious on the other hand. The thing is, it's probably also peanuts for Apple-Mackintosh, so its great they eventually agreed to pay artists.

Heh and she didn't have to take off her clothes, ride naked on a wrecking ball, or incorporate excessive gore and violence into her video to do it either. The letter to Apple though- I know a lot of her fans probably believe she's some kind of hero for that but I really think it was a planned publicity stunt. As powerful as Taylor is, no billion dollar company is going to backtrack on a huge decision overnight because of what one artist said. It's common knowledge that Taylor doesn't allow her music on streaming services and what a coincidence that the day Apple reversed their decision she decides to let 1989 be streamed! So now Apple can say they're the only ones who have Taylor's music. More people will go to Apple for streaming services because they have her music. Taylor looks like a hero and Apple looks good for "doing the right thing" and they have her music now. Everyone looks good in the end. I believe it was all a setup. But even if it was planned, I think Taylor still makes a very good point in her letter, sticking up for the little guys and hopefully it could help bring a change in the industry for how much artists get paid.

I hear Bad Blood all the time on the radio at my work (due to it being the most recent single and all) but I'm still not a fan of the song. I do think the remixed version is better than the album version, but I really don't like the chorus. I think it's because the song seems to build before the chorus, so I always expect something more from it. I'm also not a fan of the music video. I spent the whole video waiting for the big final fight to happen. Maybe if I would find it more exciting if I knew, or was a fan, of more of the special guests in the video. I've been in love with Style since the album came out though! I thought the music video was pretty lame. I wasn't picturing anything quite like what anyone else posted (although I did imagine a few car driving shots) but I pictured a music video based off of the idea of fashion. So Taylor and the lover are in more obvious set-like places and doing some model-like poses. (For example, I pictured the man turning and looking over his shoulder at the first time "You got that James Dean day dream look in your eye" is sung.) But I guess it goes to show how one song can be (visually) interpreted in various ways.

love her too... i like few of her songs from Speak Now, soothes my ears lol. i'm planning to add the album to my phone... hmm... the Red album wasn't like a "boom" to me i remember when Cornetto had a contest, the lids of their ice cream pack has codes and you have to input it somewhere in the net i think i collected 50+ lids, 1/2 of it were literally trash lol. i pick them around streets, at least i won a bag (but i didn't claim it ) 1989, i love it.. the messages, theme, of course the physical album, gosh there was like polaroids inside haha (i don't have the physical album tho) my fave tracks were Bad Blood ft. Kendrick Llamar and New Romantics Please vote for SOTW#107
