BMG stated that they want artists like Avril to be on the charts again and maybe they are aiming for top 5 or even top 1. Even though she is almost done and ready, the remaining months is not a good move to release since there is a Taylor hype. Maybe they want the spotlight only for Avril for more sales and be a chart- topper, Avril even wants to see her song as top 1 again on Billboard. They also want more people to know her especially in this generation so if that is the case, 2018 is a better choice for them but as an exchange, they will make fans disappointed.
And maybe by knowing this decision of BMG, Avril take this opportunity as more time to work for her album.

LOL even Minogue's promo is better than Avril's. I personally loved the self titled album, rock n Roll is still my jam... Lately rediscovered UMS tho, nothing is better than that album. If I have to wait fine. But please BMG, do a nice (mature) photoshoot for the album, make a creative name, and do some major promo. It would be nice at least the first single up in the billboard hot 100, at least in the top 10. If Kardi B or whatever her stupid name is can make it, I do believe Avril can still achive the same.
A release date would be nice, and I kind of agree most of the comments. I mean if I see if Avril has a new story on insta, I dont even bother to open it, because it will be a party story, ot a studio selfie. Aint nobody got that for that. They can at least give us the first single title, or a genre, or something, because seriously I dont think that she is working on this album like almost 1-2 year, and they dont even know which song will be the first single.............

But if they wanted more sales, isn't better for them to take advantage of Black Friday and the Christmas season, even just for a buzz single? I think March-April is more "dead" sales-wise. Anw, i also believe she/the label should handle the whole situation better. Inform the fans, because, in the first place, it's the fans who bring them money. I don't see her last post with the "before you even know it" phrase as an announcement or something that covers her because that statement was simply false. That makes it even worse because she keeps giving fake hopes to her fans. If your album is not ready, stop giving hopes and saying it 'll be here very soon. How simple is that? It would be better just giving us stable studio updates rather than "the album will be here very very soon", then she disappears, then she says she records vocals, then she disappears, then she's in the production stage, posting instruments and stuff, then she says "before you know it", then disappears AGAIN, then we see her partying and at the same time she records vocals AGAIN. Like... wtf?

Iβm really hoping for a double album. If she decided after the Warrior and Crush teasers that she wanted a different direction, she could do the Lyme songs and stuff on one, and the new direction on the second disc. Really I just want Fine and Gone from GL era, but we know that isnβt likely to happen.

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait PS: I can be a little stubborn sometimes haha Aww that's okay!! β€οΈ We're probably all a little stubborn since we all want the best for and from her, with different perceptions. But in the end we're all fans, and I'm looking forward to the new era

If she hasn't talked about them then no one will complain about wanting to here them if they don't make the final cut, like with Daydream etc. A double album would be great but unliekly. I'm hoping for a lot of b-sides and bonus tracks though. A repackage/deluxe version down the road would be awesome too. Her music popping up on soundtracks, being sold to other artists etc. And maybe that Christmas album she's been wanting to do for so long next year or the year after.

I wish people would stop talking about how private she apparently is to excuse not communicating. she's got no issue telling the world about her sex life and selling her wedding photos to magazines when she fancies a bit of publicity lol. Dang, Haters gonna hate hate hate........

So you can see the nonsenses of 2017 with your eyes while reading kyris89 post.

She's working. I'd rather it be released in February of March to success. Seeing how she takes YEARS between records, I want it to be a successful run for her. Quality wise, and some chart success, award recognition would be nice. Like a true comeback. It seems like she's finally working the right people to get quality music out. The people she needed and should have found for Goodbye Lullaby and AL. Let's just get excited about who's she's working/writing with. She hasn't had a solid ALBUM since TDBT (some would argue UMS). Let's get a solid, COHEIVE album out. Every delay we've been through in the past was because the album wasn't commercial enough, and she was sent back to make hits. J.R is the producer selected for the album, and if he brings ideas to the table that BETTER the album, even if we have to wait a couple extra months..I'm ok with that. Ps: keep in mind that TDBT was "done" before Dr. Luke stepped in to produce, then spawning Girlfriend. If she went with the original, The Best Damn Thing title track would have been the lead-flopping single, with a disaster of an era. Sometimes delays are good in this case, I think it is. She has good people around, and thank god Chad is on tour and not staining this album. ALSO: delays in the past two records have had her with multiple producers etc, bounding back and forth and making 3 vastly different EP's that had their track lists fused to make a disjointed album. This ENTIRE process looks different to me, and I've watched this girl for over half my life. It's looking like an organic process. Zane writing two years ago with her, and still involved to play the guitars for the record. I feel like we're really going to get her best record yet.

Do you think it will be a refoundation of the brand, giving new life, and new sound to Avril Lavigne or do you think it will be "more of the same" from past era?
