Do you think it will be a refoundation of the brand, giving new life, and new sound to Avril Lavigne or do you think it will be "more of the same" from past era? I hope it'll be a reconsiderated version of her as a brand, a fresh, new start and I really really hope Anti is damn right.

I'm dissapointed. I wait patiently and all that cause you can't do anything about it but her video on Christmas Eve 2016 said: Without trying to make an album, I made one. Well... yeah... that's just not reliable anymore. I don't care in such way if it will be 2018 but she could've told us. That's what bothers me. I will support her anytime and I'm still a true fan since 2002 but I can't stand the fact we all are like unknown people. We don't know anything. Not a date or at least a season or whatever... I'm still stuck in my head with the official announcement she made in that VIDEO on Christmas Eve 2016.... I thought that was real... what happened this time? I really thought she was with a label who let het be herself. And yet again, delay. So the original idea will be scrapped again and something new will come..?! She could release both or a b-side record or at least a christmas record in the meanwhile...
But hey... let's wait some more. I look forward to TS new record. That release date is real so let's see what that record will be like!

It depends if she stuck to her original vision or ended up changing it. In March in the Billboard interview she said she went back to her roots, in recent posts sheβs mentioned rock. Maybe itβll be a mixture. Hopefully whatever it is, it wonβt sound all over the place. In general though I think itβll be a new sound for her, at least I hope so. I think if she did some more indie influenced stuff it would give her comeback more attention. Doing the same old same old I donβt think anyone will care as much.

It depends what she means by roots, I guess. When she first mentioned it she talked about country influences and singing in church but it could also mean things from the start of her career. Working with Lauren Christy again, real instruments instead of programmed sounds, rock... all those things could tie in. It's not like there were no country influences on her first album for example.

It's ok if she takes time and everything, the problem is that she does it all the time. You need to be consistent.
If AL6 makes great and amazing but then she takes other 4/5 years to make AL7 she's gonna be forgotten again and everytime it becomes harder and harder to have success. And we know she has these timings all the time so, I don't know.

I read some of you saying that delays are good. I'm sorry but the delay in her lasts albums (GL and AL) were not that great. Some songs like Gone, Fine, many Tripods songs didn't make the final cut. Her vision for those albums was changed for RCA and Epic! how can those delays mean something good for you? I mean... quality is GOOD not some "over the place" songs without content and lacking quality sounds. If it's the case, I hope BMG didn't send her back in the studio, cause that may mean that they want something different from her, and they ,in some way, want to change the vision she first had for AL6.

This is only the 2nd time she's taken a long gap between records (and her health was part of the reason this time) Between GL and AL was only 2 and a 1/2 years which is a pretty normal length of time. It's actually a shorter gap than between UMS and TBDT. I do think she needs to not get caught up in the studio so much and know when to stop though (even if sometimes she is still feeling inspired). it would be better if she used all this time writing and being inspired to put out more music, more often rather than writing a lot but cutting it down to 12-14 songs and then never using the rest.

Many people association more time spent working on production as the actual work spent working on each of the songs, which not necessarily is the way it really is. Haven't heard of an artist working 2 or 3 years on the same songs, having the same ideas for that long time. In case of Avril it always meant writing and recording completely new tracks. I think what she had in mind in March, when she talked to Billboard, was what she had in store for BMG from the recording sessions she did recovering from Lyme. So simply the material they signed her in with.

But if they wanted more sales, isn't better for them to take advantage of Black Friday and the Christmas season, even just for a buzz single? I think March-April is more "dead" sales-wise. Anw, i also believe she/the label should handle the whole situation better. Inform the fans, because, in the first place, it's the fans who bring them money. I don't see her last post with the "before you even know it" phrase as an announcement or something that covers her because that statement was simply false. That makes it even worse because she keeps giving fake hopes to her fans. If your album is not ready, stop giving hopes and saying it 'll be here very soon. How simple is that? It would be better just giving us stable studio updates rather than "the album will be here very very soon", then she disappears, then she says she records vocals, then she disappears, then she's in the production stage, posting instruments and stuff, then she says "before you know it", then disappears AGAIN, then we see her partying and at the same time she records vocals AGAIN. Like... wtf? Not at all because for Avril it is a perfect comeback. She can receive more attention from people and leads to more sales, if they are planning to release it next year it should be in early 2018 as of now, I don't think there will be a big competition in that period. Just follow what she did to GL era. Not just the sale but also the charts and of course a spotlight just for Avril, that is one of BMG's goals right now. What if Taylor also took that advantage just to stay on the charts it will just shade Avril for sure. Well, it's just a theory tho. But most likely what is happening right now why she won't able to release is because she enjoys recording too much or a label problem.

Hopefully she'll give us regular updates and won't disappear for weeks without saying anything. I'm so happy that AL6 is confirmed... 2017 is gonna be an amazing year for us all I miss how optimistic we all were...

Exactly!! I couldn't said it any better myself!! That's what she needs to do!!

I'm still very optimistic I've got a good feeling about it, 'cause I'm sure it's going to be a great album - with real instruments, and hopefully a fresh new sound for Avril
