I would have assumed Deluxe Editions cost a little more for the extras? Therefore fans will buy the more expensive version to get all the extras while the regular version is for people who don't want to fork out a few dollars more for a couple extras but the company makes a little more money from the fans still. I could be wrong. I think deluxe versions make more sense when they're released over a year later as a bonus EP (like Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster) where you could just buy the EP for the new songs if you're a fan but if you're not and don't already have the album it brings interest back to it and you might buy the deluxe because you like some older album songs and newer EP songs. It's sort of like a mini album release mid way between full length albums. Do people buy physical albums these days? ...

A lot of East Asian countries seem especially good at still appreciating physical albums and fans are more likely to have the attitude that you should show support for an artist you like and enjoy collecting things from them so maybe a deluxe edition in Japan or something would work best

For people who don't know anything about the digital world still buy cds (my dad). Also people who like listening to music in there cars buy albums. But my dad is REALLY into music so is probabaly more inclined to want to support the artist.

I for one prefer having a physical copy because I know that if something were to happen to my computer or my accounts online, I can always just re-rip my CDs. So it gives me the assurance that I'll (for the most part) always have the music no matter what happens with my electronics. I also buy physical CDs for the packaging, art, and the collectibility. I like the experience the CD visually as much as I do sonically.

I buy physical albums all the time. It's just...the sense. Touching the "real" thing, seeing the cover, the colors, the photos of the artist inside. A combination of many things

I always buy CDs as well! If the price is still okay, I even go to such lengths as to have them shipped from other countries if they're not available here in Germany. Then I may easily pay over 20 β¬ for a CD, but that's totally okay for me. I just love being able to hold that thing in my hand, having the booklet, the CD cover, placing it on my shelve to show everyone who my favourite artists are xD.
I honestly don't understand how people can buy MP3 albums when CDs are available. Sometimes the CD is even cheaper than the MP3 version.

So, you guys are saying that she is not going to have any concerts in east coast for AL6? not even NYC? I think all depends on the success of AL6, if it flop probably no tour, moderate album moderate tour and if millions of copies are sold we will have probably tours like in TBDT

IF Avril will actually manage to tour again, I think I'd be more pleased if she decided to perform in smaller venues instead of concert halls fit for thousands of people. A lot of (lesser known) artists that I follow perform only in small venues or clubs that only fit about 1,000 people. But they still manage to have more shows than a lot of these huge artists, and the prices are lower too. PVRIS, for example, have recently had four concerts in Germany. I saw them in Munich, paid about 27 β¬ per ticket. There were less than 1,000 people in the venue, but that was actually really good, because this way it was much easier to get a standing place very close to the stage. And the mood was fantastic, no casual concert-goers who just stand around looked bored and uncomfortable. Whereas when I saw Avril live during GL era, it was the only and so far last concert here in Germany, even though she's much more popular. I paid about 42 β¬ per ticket. There were probably over 3,000 people there, but many of them seemed to just stand around doing nothing. Not being able to skip school, I was probably the very last person to arrive, so I ended up standing in the very last row and hardly seeing Avril at all. And the concert hall wasn't that good either: bad air, the stage seemed to be too small and too low (like I said, I hardly saw Avril at all), and even though the show wasn't sold out there seemed to be too many people imo. (Avril saved it all, of course. She was amazing .) Of course, the quality of the show and venue might suffer a bit from the low price. The stage might be small, there might not be many lightning effects, the sound might not be the best. But that's just normal cost-benefit ratio, isn't it? And I think it's also, in a certain way, more difficult for the artist. I always have the feeling that these lesser known artists who perform in small venues have to spend much more time touring than those huge artists. But maybe that's really just a feeling and I am completely mistaken. Anyway... sorry for writing so much. What I'm trying to say is that Avril playing in smaller venues may actually be better for both Avril and her fans than her playing in huge venues. It's definitely better than being the opener for some old boyband.

I donβt think Avril is less known than Kesha or Kelly Clarkson who have announced many shows recently near me! Letβs say AL6 is not a disaster and also not really in top 10, people still want to see her shows huh? At least I think this way ...

At least I think this way ... yes, I don't know why many ppl here treats Avril like she's an unknown singer. It is obvious that she's not Taylor or Adele, but with a great album she can be that big again like in 2002-2009. Most of the things depend from the album just look Witness, not only the singer or promotion look Fergie she's been having good promo and the album is not selling hundreds of copies. Witness and Younger Now are proofs that most of the things depend on the album and not only on who the singer is and promotion As far as I remember, Zane one said that he will probably serve as her opening act in some venues if there is a tour

I also still buy physical CDs 'cause I love the booklet As for Avril playing in smaller venues, I think it'd be good, I know that Simple Plan have been touring in smaller venues all over Europe and North America.. playing more shows than they used to in the past as well I still think it all depends on how successful the album will be and on her health, but maybe playing in smaller venues isn't a bad thing after all

Physical copy is the best, hands down.
Smaller venues in North America and Europe, it depends how AL6 will do well in these regions. Asia and South America will have a bigger venues for Avril's concert, that is for sure.
