Recently, I put together this list of Avril's unreleased songs. I sourced all of the songs using sites such as ASCAP, Songfile, BMI, etc. with the exception of a few that weren't on any. Obviously the list is not complete (as it probably never will be) but I figure it could be really useful for future reference, especially for checking if new registered songs were actually registered beforehand. I'd also love any help with finding new information to add, so send me a PM if you find anything. Thank you.
The songs in green have leaked.
The songs in orange have only had their instrumental leaked.
The songs in blue have had a snippet leaked or performed.
The songs in red were given away to other artists with Avril's version remaining unleaked.

You remember the serial killer, the sniper dude." The Best Damn Thing
"Adia" - Written by Pierre Marchand and Sarah McLachlan. The song was originally released by McLachlan as the third single from her fourth studio album, Surfacing (1997). Several months later, Lavigne published a studio version of "Adia" on her official Myspace page. Despite being featured on Lavigne's Myspace page, the song was never officially released for sale or streaming.

The duo recorded and released the song in 2008 under the title "All Because of You" as the lead single from their eleventh studio album, Bring It!. The song peaked at #34 on the Japanese Oricon charts. Lavigne's version remains unleaked. Registered on ASCAP with the Work ID 882605352.
"Contagious" - Written by Chantal Kreviazuk. In 2005, Kreviazuk sent Avril Lavigne a demo of a song titled "Contagious". Two years later, Kreviazuk accused Lavigne of plagiarizing the track on The Best Damn Thing. In an interview with Performing Songwriter magazine, Kreviazuk stated: "I sent her a song two years ago called 'Contagious,' and I just saw the track listing to [The Best Damn Thing] and there's a song called 'Contagious' on it and my name's not on it. What do you do with that?". Following this accusation, Lavigne threatened legal action against Kreviazuk in a blog post on her official website. Kreviazuk later retracted the aforementioned statement, clarifying that the "Contagious" present on The Best Damn Thing was a different song from the "Contagious" that she sent Lavigne. Speaking on the demo, Lavigne commented: "Our songs have no similarities and opposite meanings, i.e. different lyrics, different melody, different genres." It is unknown if Lavigne recorded a demo of Kreviazuk's song.
"Girlfriend" (Hindi Version) - Written by Avril Lavigne and Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald. In 2007, Lavigne re-recorded the chorus of "Girlfriend" in seven different languages, including Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Japanese, and Mandarin. Lavigne's manager, Terry McBride, later revealed to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that Lavigne also re-recorded the chorus of the song in Hindi. This version of the song was recorded twice, although it was ultimately scrapped with McBride commenting: "the diction and the meter of how you sing Hindi versus the western rhythms just didn't match and we just couldn't pull it off." While the song was not intended to appear on The Best Damn Thing, it was meant to be released during the era.
"Got Me Bad" - Written by Avril Lavigne and John Rzeznik. Registered on Songfile with the HFA Song Code G64219.

After being scrapped from The Best Damn Thing, the song was given to J-Pop duo Puffy AmiYumi. Included on their eleventh studio album, Bring It!, the duo recorded and released the song in 2008 under the title "I Don't Wanna". Lavigne's version remains unleaked. "Twist of Fate" - Also known as "When Will This Be Over," the song was written by Avril Lavigne, Kara DioGuardi, and Brian Howes. The song was presumably written for the scrapped 2008 film Twist of Fate, which was a thriller drama film that Lavigne had tentative plans to star in. According to MTV, the film was set to focus on a couple who fails to report a car accident that they were responsible for that ultimately killed the fiancee of a local young socialite. When speaking on the film, Lavigne stated that "it’s a darker, kind of more indie film. It’s nothing set in stone yet, but I look forward to experimenting with acting and just having some fun with that." Registered on ASCAP with the Work ID 504969691.

In a 2015 interview with Good Morning America, the song played in the background as Lavigne discussed her battle with Lyme disease. Registered on ASCAP with the Work ID 883439999. Following Warren signing with BMG in May 2020, the song was re-registered under BMG Rights Management on GEMA with the work no. 25195400-001.
"You Got Me" - Written by Avril Lavigne, Kara DioGuardi, and Brian Howes. Registered on ASCAP with the Work ID 551041755.
Chantal Kreviazuk demos - Following the release of Under My Skin, Chantal Kreviazuk sent Avril Lavigne multiple demos for inclusion on what would become The Best Damn Thing. One of these demos was titled "Contagious", which is notably different from the "Contagious" that ultimately ended up on the album. Speaking on why Kreviazuk's demos were rejected, Lavigne stated: "My decision to discontinue working with Chantal after co-writing together on my second record was simply based on the fact that we had no hits together. That is why her name is not on this record, despite her numerous attempts to be included, which were always denied." It is unknown if Lavigne recorded any of Kreviazuk's demos.
Goodbye Lullaby
"Candy" - Written by Avril Lavigne, Alex da Kid and Skylar Grey. After a stalemate with RCA Records, who refused to release Lavigne's fourth album without a designated "hit single," Lavigne compromised with the label by holding sessions with Alex da Kid. In 2010, Lavigne posted a video from the studio in which she stated that the trio just finished recording a new "hit single," with the unnamed song playing in the background. The song was ultimately scrapped from the album, although the song in the video was later determined to be "Candy," after an instrumental of the song leaked online in July 2011. The instrumentals for "Gone" and "Complete Me" simultaneously leaked alongside "Candy". Lavigne later stated that she would like to include some Alex da Kid helmed songs on her fifth album, including "Candy," although these plans were scrapped.
"Complete Me" - Writers unknown. The song was one of the three instrumentals that leaked online in July 2011, alongside "Candy" and "Gone". While the song was scrapped from Goodbye Lullaby, Lavigne re-worked the track to be included on her fifth album, Avril Lavigne, under the title "Hello Heartache". The song was re-written with David Hodges and the instrumental appeared sonically different when compared to the leaked instrumental. It's unknown to what extent that the lyrics were altered with the final product.
"Dancing Crazy" - Written by Avril Lavigne, Max Martin and Shellback. After a stalemate with RCA Records, who refused to release Lavigne's fourth album without a designated "hit single," Lavigne compromised with the label by holding sessions with Martin and Shellback. After being scrapped from Goodbye Lullaby, the song was passed on to Miranda Cosgrove. On December 21, 2010, Cosgrove recorded and released the track as the lead single from her second extended play, High Maintenance (2011). The song peaked at #100 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. "Dancing Crazy" is the second song of Lavigne's to be passed on to Cosgrove, as Cosgrove had previously released "Daydream" in 2010. Registered on ASCAP with the Work ID 882430471.
"Fine" - Writers unknown. In a 2009 Rolling Stone interview, Avril Lavigne shared lyrics to the song while also declaring that she planned to include the track on her fourth album. The chorus of the song has the lyrics "when I'm having a bad-hair day, would you tell me you like it that way?". The song was scrapped from Goodbye Lullaby in favor of the following Max Martin and Shellback helmed songs: "What the Hell," "Smile," "Wish You Were Here," and "I Love You".
"Gone" - Written by Avril Lavigne and Evan Taubenfeld. The song was first mentioned by Taubenfeld on a live chat, with Taubenfeld declaring it as his favorite song from Goodbye Lullaby. However, the track was scrapped from the album in favor of the following Max Martin and Shellback helmed tracks: "What the Hell," "Smile," "Wish You Were Here," and "I Love You". The instrumental of the song leaked in July 2011, alongside the instrumentals of "Candy" and "Complete Me". In an interview on The View, Lavigne stated that she would like to release "Gone" as a single from her fifth album, although these plans were scrapped.
"Hello" - Writers unknown. A studio recording and acoustic version of the song were advertised as being included on the physical release of the "Wish You Were Here" deluxe single on Avril Lavigne's official website. However, upon receiving the disc, consumers found that the songs were absent and replaced by acoustic versions of the Goodbye Lullaby singles "What the Hell" and "Smile". The track listing on Lavigne's site was surreptitiously switched to reflect this change, with no further mention of "Hello" being made. It is speculated that the song was a re-worked version of "Complete Me," that was pulled from the single to ultimately be included on Avril Lavigne as "Hello Heartache".
Avril Lavigne
"A Little Bit of Love" - Writers unknown. Avril Lavigne mentioned the song in a Google Hangout on August 5, 2013.
"Don't Fuck This Up" - Written by Avril Lavigne, Chad Kroeger, Jacob Kasher and Johan Carlsson. After being scrapped from Avril Lavigne, the song is presumed to have been passed on to the reggae pop band Emblem3. Registered on ASCAP with the Work ID 885983514, "Don't Fuck This Up" was listed as an alternate title for Emblem3's song "Taboo Love", which was released in 2016 on their extended play Waking Up. "Taboo Love" was written by Max Martin, Marco Borrero, Jacob Kasher and Johan Carlsson, meaning that the lyrics were likely altered if the song was passed from Lavigne to the band. However, Emblem3 denied any involvement from Lavigne in a Youtube comment from October 2021, stating: "No she didn’t [write the song] lolll we wrote “Taboo Love” from scratch in 2016. As much as we love Avril Lavigne and it would have been an honor to write with her… she didn’t have anything to do with writing our song “Taboo Love”."
"Echo" - Written by Avril Lavigne, Chad Kroeger and David Hodges. Registered on Songfile with the HFA Song Code E5675H.
"I'm Done" - Written by Avril Lavigne, Chad Kroeger and David Hodges. Registered with the BMI Work #48077555.

Lavigne discussed the song in a 2013 interview with People, stating “we played our duet ‘If I Said I Loved You’ [at our wedding] for our guests and danced to it for our first dance. Our guests got to hear an exclusive song! It’s our love song. We had to play it at the wedding". Lavigne also expressed her desire to release the song at some point, although these plans were presumably scrapped. The song leaked on August 14, 2022.

Alex da Kid sessions - Avril Lavigne previously worked with both Alex da Kid and Skylar Grey on her fourth album, Goodbye Lullaby. However, the material was ultimately scrapped, with the only known song being "Candy," due to an instrumental leak. Lavigne recruited Kid again for her fifth album, with Kid stating that their material was "a mixture of pop/rock and what I do. We've got some things that are hip-hop leaning, and we've got some things that are more pop/rock leaning, so it's what we both do just kind of combined into one thing". It is unknown if Grey was involved with this material. Ultimately, all of the Kid helmed tracks were scrapped from Avril Lavigne.
The Runners sessions - In 2010, pop singer Rihanna sampled Avril Lavigne's 2002 single "I'm with You" on her Loud single "Cheers (Drink to That)". The single was produced by the production team The Runners, who would then opt to also work with Lavigne on her fifth album. Both The Runners and Lavigne posted often on Twitter about the sessions they were having, with the former referring to Lavigne as a "genius". Ultimately the material recorded was scrapped, with it being heavily rumored that the songs are hip-hop influenced.

"Contagious" - Written by Chantal Kreviazuk. In 2005, Kreviazuk sent Avril Lavigne a demo of a song titled "Contagious". Speaking on the demo, Lavigne commented: "Our songs have no similarities and opposite meanings, i.e. different lyrics, different melody, different genres." Lavigne's manager, Terry McBride, later revealed to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that Lavigne also re-recorded the chorus of the song in Hindi.
