I bought their CD's "Carnavas" and "Swoon", and I have listened though each of these albums many times over. Once I start listening to either of these CD's I get so fully immersed in them I never feel the need or want to ever skip a single song on them either. To me that is the signature of a truly great band; when they can deliver a fully immersive listening experience from start to finish on an album... And they certainly deliver that on their albums "Carnavas" and "Swoon"...

I've been waiting for this day to come. Haha. The song is pretty good but the bridge is kinda underwhelming imo. I can understand why it's not included in let go

This is such a weird song for Tool (although you could say all Tools songs are a bit weird). I read that they basically equate this song "Opiate" as a way of basically saying 'religion' to an 'opiate for the masses', then there is that crazy psychedelic hidden track at the end. I think they were being experimental and kind of still finding their sound when this EP came out, with this song on it. Yeah it is a pretty trippy song and the gaping lotus experience is a nice little touch. It’s cool to see tool in this vulnerable stay of openness which is not only vulnerable, but comfortable. It’s cool to finally find someone who at least knows tool, I assume your a fan? If so your the first person I met that likes my two favorite artists which would be pretty epic Am I a fan? I just don't know their music well enough to say that I am yet. I have never heard a full album of theirs. But I'm certainly intrigued enough to want to dive in and listen to more of their music. Was there a particular album of theirs that you heard that made you their fan? I tend to be one of those kind of music listeners that really enjoys the whole listening experience of listening to a full album and the journey that it takes you on/or through, etc.
On side note, I can recall seeing the music videos and listening to Avril Lavigne's hits on the radio, back when Avril Lavigne's album 'Let Go' came out, and I was intrigued. However, I still had never heard an entire album of hers. But one day someone played her album 'Under My Skin' and that was it, that listening experience to me was absolutely amazing and I was totally immersed in that experience. And that single listening experience cemented my as a fan of Avril Lavigne's for life. And I can honestly say that even if Avril never recorded another song or album, I would still be a fan of hers for life all because of that single and wonderful listening experience.

And I can honestly say that even if Avril never recorded another song or album, I would still be a fan of hers for life all because of that single and wonderful listening experience. I became a fan of tool right after I rediscovered Avril. I listened to Ænima in its entirety and I loved it. I would say start at Ænima really easy now that they are on streaming. The thing about tool albums is that it takes multiple listens to appreciate the album. On your first listen it will probably not be that good, but you can’t give up like I almost did because you will regret it. I would say 2-3 good listens is what it would take to start to really appreciate and understand their albums. I remember with Avril I listened to the singles and never listened to albums and then I decided to listen to albums and found songs I liked even more than the singles. I listened to let go and under my skin and got sucked into a vortex and kept repeating those two albums for months and eventually got to tbdt, gl, and al. I then listened to haw the night at midnight when it came out. It was a beautiful moment.
