Yeah her skin is perfect but the only time I saw fine lines was in the "come back stage with Avril Lavigne" uproxx interview. They weren't wrinkles but I definetely saw obvious fine lines which I think is actually awesome because it goes to show she obviously hasn't had botox unlike most other celebrity's.

I just figured out recently that I was taking showers that were way too hot and it was irritating my skin, which made my acne much worse than it should have been. I take cold showers now. Much better. My acne isn't so deep, painful, and scarring anymore. It seems that anything that irritates my skin and robs it of its natural oils makes me break out(dry skin and shaving). I remember for 3 years that my dumbass parents and doctors kept urging me to use this cream and then some antibiotic pills that did nothing or just made my acne worse. Thank god I didn't seek further "help." That would have been an awful waste of time and money. LOL.

I tried it all - I went to a dermatologist for awhile in high school. They put me on an antibiotic which helped with the acne but you can't be on antibiotics forever. And eventually you build up an immunity to them so you have to change the antibiotic. A few years later I went on a birth control pill that was specifically targeted for acne. It worked for a couple of years. I never had any bad side effects until the third year I was taking it and all of a sudden it made me think I was suicidal and I spent a year every day feeling like I wanted to kill myself for no reason. It was scary and horrible. I decided to go off of it and the thoughts went away. Birth control is another thing that you shouldn't be on for too long of a period of time. Anything artificial like hormones or antibiotics just isn't good for long periods of time, even if they work. The only thing I have never tried is Accutane and my acne is not severe enough for that. As I've gotten older I definitely believe natural and inexpensive products or remedies are best. I tried some Kate Somerville products earlier this year and none of them worked for me. Kate Somerville is a brand in Beverly Hills that is supposed to be great and their products are very expensive. None of them worked for me so I returned them and got my money back. Just because something is expensive doesn't mean it is good or that it will work. meanwhile I love my Simple skincare that is completely affordable and I generally use drugstore products that work just fine. I'm so sorry you had to go through so much Bogo My cousin had acne and scaring too, she got peeling done (she was in 23 back then) her skin at 37 is alright I think yoga is the best remedy for hormonal issues - I had PCOS and it helped a lot.. it brings glow on face and keeps you looking young. I use natural remedies like sandalwood powder or neem for acne. When I started getting acne as a teenager.. I would apply sandalwood powder overnight and neem face pack weekly.. it would disappear. I have always used natural things like fuller's earth (sultani mitti), turmeric, etc. I have never found anything that cleans my face more than chickpea powder.. My mom till this day uses natural stuff and her skin is pretty good for her age. I started using skin care creams etc only in my late 20s.

Little update on my skincare: I’m using a daily peeling to clean my face in the morning and evening. It’s by Neutrogena, from their “anti acne range”, as I call it. Follow with the toner every now and then and wait for my face to dry and then I put on my moisturizer. (Also Neutrogena, but the aqua gel from the hydra boost series) So basically I ditched night creams and that stuff. I still rely on a white paste with zinc and salicylic acid at night ‘cause pimples. And eye cream at night. Nobody sees a difference but me, I just keep telling myself it’s fiiiiine. And thanks to living in a city instead of a shadowy mountain village I need to put up with sunscreen in my face every. freaking. day. It might sound weird, but I started putting aftershave on my face and then the moisturizer/sunscreen and damn it, my skin has been handling the sunscreen so much better. I used to avoid it at all costs unless I went swimming or hiking, because my skin would break out like hell afterwards. And face masks. I swear. 2 to 3 times a week not always the same. Rotate between a few, find some that work. I have a few drugstore options and those, uhm, I believe it’s l’oreal that has these multi masking (black, green and a orange/brown/red kind of color) I got a pack of thermo masks by Biore from my mum, they’re different but actually my skin feels nice afterwards which has me wondering: has anybody tried their cleansers/washing gels etc.? And here I am, just cleaned my face and realized I forgot two things. First: I do one weekly peeling that’s... well, let’s say it does a different job because the texture is different. I call it „a deep cleaning“ And, most importantly: tea tree oil. I’m not kidding. I add two to three drops to my moisturizer twice in a week. (Put some moisturizer on my fingers, add the drops and then rub my fingers so it kind if mixed together and then put it on my face) Yes, it smells, but in my case - it’s worth the smell. I use tea tea oil too sometimes - I mix it with aloe vera gel.. it does wonders for oily skin.. and sometimes I mix essential oils like tea tree oil, rosemary etc in my regular hair oil before washing it off. Its good for dandruff too.

Even if its chilling cold I never use hot water.. hot water makes your scalp dry and strips it off essential oils. Dandruff id basically fungus as far as I know.. IDK how antibiotics will help.

I think the main cause was the warm and hot showers. I'd even say that my acne is almost non-existent now ever since I started taking cold showers. I don't know if my recent dieting and exercise had anything to do with it, but I doubt it because I stopped taking hot showers before I started dieting and exercise and noticed an immediate drop in severity.

I didn't realise I'm replying to such old posts.. Uffff I've done that, too. The pages are weird when you're reading Recent Posts. It takes you to old posts as well. Like at the beginning of the thread when you want to click on at the end of it. I click on threads and it takes me to page 2 or some other random page, lol. It's confusing.

Cold as in really cold water or a bit warm added? My skin is really bad now with wearing masks so often and my hormones are out of control. I feel like a teenager and people younger than me have an amazing skin. 10-15 years ago my skin wasn't so bad but now it's hell, scarring, acne, redness. It sucks cause I'm 33 and I hate it. Clean it twice a day with tea tree foam but maybe start showering colder or wipe away the foam with colder water instead of warm.

If this gives any accuracy to the "amount" of cold, I turn the valve about 90 degrees.

Now you can do natural makeup. Rarely anyone tries to change facial features with the help of a foundation. As a cosmetologist, this makes me very happy. Women began to pay more attention to skin care. They know how to accept their naturalness and love themselves. I recently took courses at LINK DELETED. And during the course, one of the teachers emphasized an important thing. He said that a cosmetologist should convince a woman of her natural beauty and help to reveal this beauty.

Salicylic Acid has been my best friend for treating/preventing acne over the last year. I buy Paula's Choice, and I use it in the morning 6 days a week. For night, I alternate between salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and retinol six times a week. There's one day when my face gets a "breather" from the chemical treatments tho I feel my acne has been fine with 7 days of consistent usage.
For morning/night moisturizers, I use CereVe.

My makeup artist for my wedding recommended a face mask of aspirin, vitamin c powder and brown sugar and honestly I’ve never looked back it’s an absolute (weird as hell) game changer lol my skin is soooo smooth!
the my go-to moisturiser is always Elemis, marine cream spf30 during the day then the superfood midnight facial in the evening. the marine cream is quite expensive though, so if I’m feeling cheap I switch out for Olay beauty fluid. It’s not as good but does the job
And lots of water lol

Ahaha, I love that face mask you did katy! I’ve been an aspirin sugar vitamin c mask as well since my teens, it’s really good at brightening the skin and also exfoliating and getting rid of those dead skin cells. Glad your makeup artist recommended it, it’s so good, I still do it to this day!
