[ALBUM THREAD] The Head Above Water Thread

I personally don't mind waiting, I actually prefer it to all these fast-moving eras that most artists seem to do these days. All these surprise-releases and stuff... Where's the excitement, the anticipation? I mean, how are you supposed to look forward to e.g. a single you don't even know exists until the day it suddenly gets released?

But it's different with Avril. Waiting for this album is so exhausting. Right now, I'm actually wondering if they really do have a promo plan or if they just do it all spontaneously. What was that about with those lyric alerts and the new photos last week? And why disappear so suddenly, AGAIN? (Did she even disappear? It's only been about a week since her last post, maybe she'll post something tonight, maybe that was the plan all along???) What about all this leaked info? I used to think it was leaked on purpose, but it's been weeks now, yet we never got an official statement. When we found out about these three song titles - "Dumb Blonde", "Birdie", and "I Fell In Love With The Devil" - I seriously thought Avril/her team/BMG would officially confirm those titles the following week or so. But nothing. I don't get it.

I don't think it's purely BMG's fault, though, 'cause other BMG artists don't seem to have that problem at all. But I don't want to blame Avril or her promo team either. I don't want to point fingers when we actually have zero idea what's going on. But it's getting so exhausting...again. :/

Totally agree. 

I was just pointing out that it's curious how an artist with much less popularity is having all this crazy promo and is doing everything right, whereas it's a total mess on this side. 

A "Yo', my new album "Head Above Water" is coming out on Feb blah blah" tweet would be enough for most of us. But the fact that we're not even getting that after basically half the information about the record has been leaked is discouraging, to say the least.

HAW is WAY better than Ashley's new song. No offense Ash. People over on her Twitter are sending her thank you tweets for sharing her struggle with anxiety and how they relate to the song. And she's answering them! Herself!

Avril please learn from her. Don't they know each other?

Can we call this thing an era?

I don't know about you but this feels like a buzz single, but it is obvioulsy the lead, just the feeling is more like a buzz than an actual lead single with a album near to be released.

I’d love if Avril was my boss. She doesn’t seem to control or manage her team at all.
