LOL It seems Avril can't win with people on this site! Y'all want new music, the album is scheduled for February and everyone says it would be stupid to release the 2nd single this close to Xmas as it will get lost...yet the thought of Avril providing you with new material in the form of Christmas music to tide us over for the festive period isn't good enough for you? I personally would love to hear her interpretation of some Christmas Music and if this video shoot is even close to that than I'm happy and will make the wait for Head Above Water more bearable Not everyone celebrates Christmas or feels the Christmas spirit. If some of you want it then cool. I'm happy for you all. The new material I want and that would make me happy is from her new album. Nothing wrong with that. |

Obviously we’d all prefer a new song. But if Christmas music isn’t your thing, some people here don’t have to act like it’s something she shouldn’t do or like it’s the worst thing ever. Just skip it then. There’s some fans that do enjoy Christmas music. And yeah I was talking in general about most people going crazy over Christmas stuff. I didn’t say everyone does. Like people are so nuts about it they start celebrating the day after Halloween. And we all know Avril especially loves Christmas. It shouldn’t come as a surprise she’s doing something Christmas-related.

I'm here for a Christmas EP before the Head Above Water.
And a music video will help a lot to promote herself. As someone mentioned she lost popularity, she doesn't release music from time to time, so people forget about her. Selena, Ariana, Demi, Nicki, Lana etc are continuously releasing music even if these are just buzz singles or some feats
My question now is if the song is BICO, another cover or an original song

It has to be something short. Just a couple of hours to shoot the video. She didn't post many bts from it like when she was shooting the HAW music video. Maybe it's a surprise. I'm so intrigued... I hope she posts something today. She's been really active this week. Maybe she will disappear for another week.

If she does do a Christmas thing, then she should make an update video at least to appease the rest of us. She could get on live or something and talk about when other stuff is coming and more details on the album

It's not what I prefer as I've said before but I admit it could be good for Avril to put out her Christmas album now or at least an EP. It's good promo for her ahead of HAW. And she's been talking about it for a while now. There is a market for it. Although I don't think just one song and video would do much, she'd need n EP or something. Overall, if done right it could be good for her.

She's not going to put out a Christmas song. The album is already finished. She was playing something new on the piano in a Facebook video I watched. She will probably release another piano based song at some point.

It may not be a Christmas song but fit in with a wintery theme. Like it being a ballad with snow etc in the MV.
Or her talking about snow could have just been her having fun with the filter.
There's no gaurantee it was filmed in just one day either. She could have been lategramming. Or she isn't in all the scenes (like in WYG) so her part is filmed quicker. There are lots of details we don't know yet
