[ALBUM THREAD] The Head Above Water Thread

Well, first of all I'm surprised that Avril is releasing a single at this time of the year when many people thought that we would have new music until 2019. I was only expecting some kinda video related to xmass time or something like that but well, finally we have something to be happy for. So I don't know why there's some people having issues with the photoshoot or the single cover. Wasn't new music what we all wanted this time and now we have it... I'm laughing because we love to critize every step she/her label takes. Don't kill me and don't take it personal.

Regarding the new single cover or the new photos from the Hong Kong fans club, I don't know if they are the album cover. Wasn't the album cover shot with David N. some time ago and in her pool, under water? I thought Gabriel Panduro stated in David's instagram that they did different shots and that they finally got the best one for the album cover... so Avirl holding a guitar is not what I was really expecting. But knowing how things have been handled lately, everything can be possible and maybe they changed the subject of the album, or the theme, the cover and what was planned (which I higly doubt).

Happy B to In wonderland and I it's a really nice gift to know we'll have some new music and maybe a new music video to wait for until February. I really can't wait to know what it sounds like. And I also love the idea that she's been working with different female artists that are not today's top. There's a lot of music we don't know and that she is not that well know in the industry it doesn't mean she writes bad music. I love this Avril supporting artists in this way and not just looking for the ones who are #1. After all maybe this was the Idea she and others female artists shared back then when that meeting with Bebe Rexha and Lauren C. took place.

At this point I don’t really care about sales anymore. HAW was a clear example of where Avril is now and how she finds other things much more important than commercial success. Even if it’s a second single and it has a video, it won’t even enter the Billboard 100. Those days are long gone. I just want to hear quality music from her and what she chose as her musical direction. We know this is 100% her, no label interfering.

To me, this song is dark, so no HTNGU, RNR or WTH sound I’d say. I’m guessing it will probably be a mid tempo song, maybe it’s one of the heavier “rock” songs she recorded, or maybe it’s very raw, but I doubt it will be upeat considering the dark theme and the lyrical content.

I don't think this is the second single by the way. Just an album track that she really likes and wants to release along with the album pre-order. The second single will be Dumb Blonde for sure and I guess they'll release it once the album is released.

Even if there's no video or anything, I'm just glad we get to hear another song.

Do you think she will put out some snippet before the release or that we'll have to wait a whole week without more info about it?

It gonna be a cheery song like TBDT and she's gonna spell the word "over" like she did her name
