I watched the HAW video again, after a long time (lol) and I had noticed the bird that goes flying during the first scenes, where Ramona is inside that cave or whatever. What I just noticed is that during the last chorus, when she's walking outside, the bird is flying next to her. And it's a cute metaphor. I know, I know, it's nothing new, but I think Birdie and HAW are sister songs, and now that the tracklist was revealed, it seems more possible. I think the symbolism is the same; feeling trapped, watching a bird(ie) fly, wishing to do the same, and then becoming the bird(ie) and doing exactly that. I like the concept, it's simple yet poetic. I usually see that bird(ie) before the second chrous, before she starts to run towards the cliff. It's like the flying bird liberates her and the second chorus is sang with more energy and it sounds really porwerful. I find it really poetic/symbolic in the video too!

I’ll take what Wikipedia says with a grain of salt, since I don’t know where all the info is coming from. I’d be kind of pissed if the songs with Travis, Rotem and Zane got scrapped because that would mean she did the same thing as in GL and AL this year to replace the songs with overproduced pop songs. Based on Mitch and Levine’s history, I’m doubtful we’ll hear any real instruments on those songs or that they won’t be very poppy, but we’ll see. I just don’t get why Allan gets to have 4 songs when she worked with so many more talented people on this album in the last two years who seemed to be much more in sync with the style she was initially going for. I’m not holding my breath for any of the songs she produced by herself because they tend to be too raw and boring. My guess is that while this might still be a more vocal album, at least the songs with Mitch and Levine will be more beat-driven, synth tracks, and that’s something I don’t like one bit. And it’s not just a song or two, it’s 1/3 of the album...What I loved about the lead, Head Above Water, was how natural it sounded, you could actually hear all the instruments on the track. I’m doubtful we’ll get that with those songs. Hope I’m wrong... I wonder if we’ll be able to preorder a deluxe version of the album on Wednesday as well. It would be cool to have two or three more new songs on it. I’m not sure if BMG releases deluxe versions of their artists’ albums, though. Kylie Minogue had deluxe version with BMG. But I don’t know. The only deluxe version she has released was for GL and they were messy accoustic versions and Bad Reputation. I don’t think she does it this time, deluxe editions are not a thing anymore.

I posted a link from avril-lavigne.pl yesterday with all details we got in the past 2 years about each of the songs based on copyrights agencies. avril-lavigne.pl/2018/12/head-above-water-2019-garsc-faktow/

Pretty sure Fergie also had one but the deluxe material was music videos of each song.
Mitch Allen has written some great pop/rock stuff, I don’t get the hate. He wrote the song 1985 that was covered notably by the band Bowling for Soup. He also wrote a lot of Hannah Montana songs that were pop/rock. I thought pop/rock/punk was the style everyone loved from Avril. She did say she wrote some “rock” songs for this album.
I’m disappointed we won’t hear more Zane and Rotem songs since she worked for so long with them and seemed like she was going in an interesting direction with them. However, I can understand her wanting to leave the past behind and do what she feels passionate about at that time. She said numerous times she loved writing again and didn’t want to stop. Obviously the new songs will take precedence over ones she wrote years ago. The integrity of the album is still there with songs like HAW, Birdie, Warrior, and possibly Crush and TMIO. But she probably didn’t ant the whole album to be ballads like GL (which many fans including myself found to be boring and monotonous) so she added some upbeat pop/rock songs to balance it out. She isn’t sick anymore and wants to have some happy songs, not just songs about an illness she doesn’t even have anymore.
At any rate, I don’t think it’s fair to write off an entire album without even hearing it.

“remove your clothes and enter the woods at midnight with your guitar to summon the dark lord” vibe. Honest to god, mood.

I always understood that the more rock stuff was what she was doing with Rotem, since she was working with him when she said that on the live chat. But maybe it was Mitch all along. Yes, I agree that a monotonous album like GL would turn out to be boring, so maybe these songs will balance it out. But I hope they're very well-produced, not like the Martin Johnson fiasco.

Wikipedia is wrong, Mitch Allan only produced Dumb Blonde, Levine the other 3 tracks. Yeah, but they are pop producers. I bet the Rotem songs were more jazzy and piano driven that these ones.

I already love the Cover, I preffer something raw and dark like that, than something pink and child.. My Hype is growing up with TMIO..
I Wish Avril can get some models in a mv, for example, imagine Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner etc making a cameo..
Pd: Wanna listen Dumb Blonde, Im Waiting the remix with Iggy Azalea and Taylor Swift.. Will be a Hit for sure LOL

I am REALLY excited, I can't wait for Wednesday to hear TMIO and watch its music video and most importantly I can't wait for February
When it comes to the cover, the more I look at it, the more I love it. I have no issue with her being naked, and to be honest you can't see much since she's covered by the guitar. I really like the symbolism behind, as some of you guys have noted. I think it's one of her best covers, the other one being GL in my opinion.

Getting the preorder, cover and tracklist confirmed kinda made me “ignore” TMIO’s release, then thinking about it now made me super excited. So happy knowing pretty soon we will have new music to listen to, and a music video as well ❤️

I just saw HAW accompanied by the music video after quite a while, and then later that day I checked out on that lyric video of hers which I haven't seen since god knows when, and I was a bit surprised over myself actually. Why? Well, it may sound like I'm off the rails, but I think the lyric video suits the song's message better than that MV. Sure, the lyric video is quite a generic thing, with the stock rolls of icelandish terrain and sea, but the way the song and the clip work together bring a feeling as if the song is a letter to whomever reads it, kind of a sincere, minimalist plead for life, devoid of many typical 'excesses'. You never see Avril, and that works well with the theme that she's in a very personal, intimate struggle, that is not apparent to the outside. I think the MV in the meantime fails to be in tune with the song's aura, only superficially addressing the song's theme with super-standardized visuals.
