I guess all the unrleased songs are low just for being unreleased. I should accept it XD Take Me Away and Let Go are some of my favourite Avril songs ever, especially Let Go: the stortelling lyrics are amazing and i will always say that it deserved a place on the omonymous album. Take Me Awat is the perfect example of a fun upbeat song with a great message and i even love it more than the UMS one.
I Don't Have To Try is a little frustrating, i don't like the message at all, if it was released in these days there would be lots of blacklash for the anti-feminist lyrics, so to me seeing it above the 2 masterpieces that i mentioned before is shocking.
Contagious is very very very very very very very underrated, maybe it's for the lenght, i don't know..but it's great song with great lyrics, with great sound and great vocal performance.

I've just re-listened to the B-side's and there really are some amazing songs - Falling Down, Why, Get Over It, Take Me Away, Move Your Little Self On, You Never Satisfy Me, Let Go, Tomorrow You Didn't, Headset.. I have to say I even prefer the demo version of Things I'll Never Say, it seems much more pop rock compared to the classic version which is more country to me. I also think Take Me Away would have made a great addition with the "Oops I did it again" lyrics which is a bit of a p*ss take of Britney and that's what she was going for at the time.
I think after listening to the Bsides it's obvious that they were thinking of marketing Avril in either of two different directions.. either Pop Rock or Country Pop and Let Go is a fairly balanced album of the two. The album holds back on a lot of the more aggressive songs that could have made it with the exception of Losing Grip and Unwanted and they were probably still determining which way to push Avril on her second album and depending on how successful the Pop Rock image was, they could have took her back to a more country / acoustic pop route. As she did so well with Let Go and that image, UMS leaned more towards pop rock with an even "heavier" sound as her fans represented that market.
I actually prefer a lot of the Bsides to the original songs on Let Go!

I unironically love IDHTT, including the Peaches-inspired intro (I adore Peaches as well). It's not deep, it's fun without trying too hard. See, that's where songs such as RNR failed, they seem forced. This one is just energetic and fun. I don't listen to it frequently but every time I do, I'm entertained. It was one of the songs I enjoyed the most watching her live, she went crazy! Not to mention the instrumental is great. Sue me.
Bad Girl is a cute nü-metal/pop number. Nothing extraodinary, but I wish she would experiment with these elements again. This might be an unpopular opinion, but nü-metal and post-grunge suit her better than pop-punk. For me, this was a highlight from her self-titled.
Wings Clipped has great lyrics, great production, her voice sounds fantastic... and Anthony Green being involved is so odd. My teenage self would have DIED if this was released in 07. the music is very Crystal Castles meets pop-rock. It works very well.
Don't really care about the other songs. I liked Imagine when it came out though.

Wait wait IDHTT anti-feminist and would get backlash these days?? I actually see that song as Avril saying she controls the relationship "I wear the pants". Yea it's disregarding her partner in a very bratty and rude way (or maybe she's not even in the a relationship) but anti-feminist no. But then again it depends are how you view feminism and equality between partners which is a whole other topic...... It's one of her classic boy bashing songs where she ain't taking shit from anybody. Kind of reminds me of the bratty version of DTM and similar to the brattiness and childish lyrics of IAGWIW.

Don't Tell Me is a perfect song to describe taking control over an abuse relationship, bratty or not IDHTT tells the opposite : i'm sick of your behaviour, i was told what to do, now it's your turn to obey. And the motherfucker thing ruins everything. I loved the song when i was 15, then growing up i realized that it's not telling a great message.

Oh, wow, I didn't know people hate her cover of Imagine, it's my favorite cover she's done and I think her voice sounds beautiful.

Alone is such a good track! It's definitely within my top 25 favorite songs from her, and should've been part of the standard tracklist. Not enough justice for this song.

My teen self ADORED Daydream. It's sad we never got the full version. And the child-friendly version some Disney singers made doesn't count. Imo, that outro is one of her best, you can feel the passion + the guitars sound fantastic.
Alone was such a brilliant track, I never understood why OOTG or Cuntagious made it to the ~official tracklist, but Alone didn't. It could have been a great single, too.
EBBY and Unwanted are so low? I'm shocked. I thought most of the members were hardcore fans of ~rock Avril~ lol However, both songs aged horribly, especially the lyrics.
17 deserved a lower place. 4 Real is cute, but meh.

I love 17. Probably my favourite from AL. Wish we had a full version of Daydream.
Really love TBDT too, of her “bratty” songs I’d say it’s by far the best. So fun. Really enjoy EBBY and Alone too, agree the latter could’ve been a proper album track.
Always thought 4 Real was pretty bad, it just doesn’t go anywhere? Same for SST and EH actually.

Wow, this is so far from my personal rating. I don't like EBBY at all, sounds like a childish, chaotic pop-punk song to me. Those interludes, ugh, no thanks. I only really like the aggression and some of the lyrics, even though I can't relate to them. "4 Real" is one of the most boring songs Avril's ever released. Like, it's not necessarily bad, it's just boring. "My World" has never really been my cup of tea either. I'm not even sure why, maybe it's simply the melody or those autobiographical lyrics which I can't really relate to. Dunno, I just never managed to really connect with this song. "Bad Reputation" used to be one of my favourite songs, but by now I'm quite sick of it. It seems so repetitive somehow. And the fact that it was a bonus track for GL and AL and already existed during TBDT era didn't help. Avril really nailed that cover, though. "17" is totally overrated imo. Even if it wasn't so badly produced and autotuned, I think it just tries too hard to be this sweet, nostalgic song. It also sounds kinda childish, cheesy, and cliché to me. And I can't connect to it at all. I guess I'm not a very nostalgic person in general, and 17 wasn't really a good year for me, I definitely would not want to go back there. "Alone" is one of my all-time favourite songs, it's so well produced and the aggression and fun, that's just such a joy to listen to. And the drums in the last chorus, ugh, so powerful, absolutely fantastic! This song deserves so much better.

4 Real - It's not a bad song, but I agree with others that I've always found it boring. I listened to GL recently and it wasn't as boring as I remember, but it's still not a track I'd really go out of my way to listen to or put on repeat.
Everything Back But You - I used to love this one a lot and then I got sick of it. It's a bratty song, but I think it's one of the best on TBDT. It's one of her few songs that actually has a guitar solo.
My World - This one is so underrated and I never knew why. I love that it has autobiographical lyrics and that it gives us a glimpse of what her life was like growing up in Napanee. I love the sound of it too, it's like this late '90s pop thing.
DayDream - Meh I always thought this one was overrated.
The Best Damn Thing - I used to love it a lot but as I've gotten older I think I have just outgrown it and the lyrics annoy me.
Bad Reputation - I've always loved her cover of this.
Alone - Another one that IMO is overrated.
Stop Standing There - It's ok, upon listening to GL again it's actually pretty good, but another one I don't go out of my way to put on.
17 - Would have been so much better with better production like how she did it live.
Unwanted - It's my least favorite from LG. It's just too rock, too grungy for my taste. It's not really catchy or easy to listen to. Fun fact - this was the first song Avril completed for Let Go that made the cut.
