None. All her songs are perfect Actually, nothing is perfect. Literally nothing. Every single thing in this life is imperfect in its own way and has its flaws. And that's where beauty lies, in the perfect imperfection of something.

If you really like something, you say it's perfect. Just an expression.

Hello Kitty would have been better if it hadn't been recorded. I have to mention Smile too, but not for the reasons Bogo or Katy have already gone over. It's that "What did you put in my drink?" line I don't care for. It's seriously creepy and out of place in a fun pop song. Agreed. Same with Half of Avril Lavigne and most of The Best Damn Thing.
And also agreed, but you are forgetting that Avril wrote that song during a time when it was very in to be drunk, partying all the time and of course being a fucked up rebel all the way. Have you not seen Lana del Rey's new video in which she tells everyone to take Ecstasy and have a great time with it? This attitude is getting worse and worse. I wonder when this attitude starts to die out. I think hidden words are so much more fun and speaking out things like that as precisely as she did in Smile is a bad attempt to go with the flow. I think it's no secret that her songwriting skills have goten worse, at least when you compare it to songs like Too Much Too Ask, which talks about a similar issue, but in a more artistic way and not a "hey look at me, I'm drunk, I get tattooed drunk, I'm soo cool and you should do it too".

I know. I say that, myself, all the time. But I also know that nothing is really perfect. And when I, personally, say that word when it comes to something I really like - most of the time- I know that what I actually find perfect in that thing is actually all the imperfections and flaws that that thing has combined together.

17. More generally, - all those AL "too pop" songs could be better. If they were not that "pop" (by this I mean mostly a too primitive melody). But I doubt about HK being a "bad" song. I don't know. There were times when I listened to it a lot and watched the video.))) Ok, the lyrics is awfully simplistic and nonsensical, possibly, but you know, for me, not an english speaker, it doesn't matter as much as for native speakers.) And totally another thing - "How does it feel". I love this song very much. This is one of the favorite one. And it would be better if it were a bit longer (i.e. one more verse). But honestly I don't bother with the "quality" of Avril's song because I like them how they are. And those few that I don't like much, I just am not listening to. For example I'm rarely listening to "Bitchin' summer", "17", "Bad girl", "Let it go" (but this one isn't bad I believe, it just that happened), what else - "Alice". In conclusion, for me, not skilled in music details, all songs from the first 4 albums of her and a half of the 5th are very good (with favourites of course) (essentially, this is why I am a fan of her, besides of her extreme beauty and attractiveness as a person of course). (Maybe some GL songs are somewhat boring, but it's ok, I am boring too). xD PS. Isn't this thread about production quality only, I hope?)

Ok, I'm so glad i'm not alone with Smile's chorus and verses not matching. Aggressive sounding verses and a fun/bubbly chorus. Love the song and I feel like it ties together because it's Avril, but if it were anyone else I'd probably not be as into it. The chorus is so fun, energetic, and about love, but the song opens with "you know that i'm a crazy bitch" and it just sets the tone wrong for people who aren't Avril fans.

I felt the same about Who Knows. The verses are about a relationship it seems but the chorus seems to be about someting completely unconnected. She does that sometimes, like she's throwing 2 different songs together. There's a bit of a disconnect between the verse and chorus of EH too.

The bridge of "Alone". I m not fond of the "you want my... Oh oh oh", but the thing that annoys me the most, for whatever stupid reason, is the "ovER and ovER and ovER ovER aga-ain". I wish the emphasis was on the "oh" of "over" instead,.. "OHVer and OHVer and OHVer... Aga-ain".

It just sounds so awkward. In my opinion, the entire song would be so much better off without these lyrics in the bridge. They ruin what otherwise could be a very enjoyable fun pop song for me.

17 for sure. According to eismann, the bad production isn't noticable if you listen to it through really good headphones.
