Have you ever think about "Oh, the starting point of this song is very good, but the lyrics and production ruin it" ?
To me, Hot, Push, Hello Heartache, Everybody Hurts and Give You What You Like are where this sentence come into my mind.
They would have been a kick-ass singles once they are improve.
I dunno why couldn't Avril make "single version" to satisfy the label if she wants certain songs to be single. Although most of the people will hear the single version first, some people will finally get into hearing the album version. One Direction and Taylor Swift did it, why not Avril. Avril have her own version to be heard, the label have another version to have radio promotion. It's very fair

You forgot Smile. Chorus is great but verses suck.
Production on EH and Push could have been better.

I don't think hot or GYWYL has that much more rooms to improve.
Not saying they're perfect songs but they do fine on their own.

SMILE. Honestly that song makes me so angry, the chorus is probably her best chorus ever imo but the verses are her worst, such a shame cos with decent lyrics in the verse it'd probably be my favourite song from her.

Hello Kitty would have been better if it hadn't been recorded. I have to mention Smile too, but not for the reasons Bogo or Katy have already gone over. It's that "What did you put in my drink?" line I don't care for. It's seriously creepy and out of place in a fun pop song.  |

Things I'll Never Say: The Matrix Version is better.
My World and Mobile are lame. Something is missing.
Freak Out: It's too much like He Wasn't with horrible instrumental.
The Best Damn Thing: Better production please.
Smile: I love the Verses but the chorus and the upbeat Ruins it.
17, Sippin' On Sunshine: Both are too boring, more Rock or something else would be better.

ICDB: I don't especially enjoy the drunk shenanigans, the song could've sound better without them. Well, I think that some of TBDT songs would've looked/sounded better without all the brattiness (borderline stupidity), but they wouldn't have been the same songs, either. |

I prefer the demo of 17 tbh... and Hot is really good, I still go back to the one song if I don't wanna listen to the full TBDT and Smile... wasn't bad, just wasn't great. |

You Aint Seen Nothing Yet: Good song but the instruments need work.
Sipping On Sunshine, HTNGU...the production RIP.
17 - the song could even be the best song off the album if it weren't for this crappy production.
Bad Girl: needs a proper bridge.
And HELLO KITTY. the whole song.
GL (It's a very good album but still has MANY ROOMS that could be improved)
Black Star - A longer version please!
What The Hell - As someone said, a rockier version would kickass.
Smile - the chorus and the verses don't really blend well.
Push/WYWH/SST/ILY/4 Real/Darlin/Alice-all decent songs but a proper organic sound with full piano/strings/acoustic guitar arrangements instead of the basic C-G-Am-F strum over a standard drum beat.
TBDT
ICDB - the drink as much as I can line. It ruins the song.
Replace Alone With When You're Gone(a nice song but I don't know what it's got to do with the album)
UMS
Who Knows - I just don't know how the chorus and the verses relate, lyrically.
I don't know why people don't like Freak Out - It's a kickass song and it has Avril written all over it.
