I’m gonna guess if shows are allowed to happen by then she probably won’t be playing at full capacity venues. It will be interesting to see what happens there then. In London for example she has the three sold out shows at Brixton, which cant go ahead at a reduced capacity. I wonder if it would be possible to switch to a larger venue in London where she could have a reduced capacity?

Her stage setup may not be appropriate for a bigger venue

New charity campaign by Avril, you can win a pre-recorded performance of WAW: www.charitystars.com/sweepstake/win-a-personalized-video-performance-by-avril-lavigneUgghh ok it's nice that she wants to do something for charity but come on this is lame. You must donate at least $10 for a CHANCE to win and the performance isn't even live, it will be pre-recorded and then personalized for the winner. If you donate more, your chances to win increase. At least all the money goes to charity, but I think it's kind of unfair to people who can't afford to donate that much. I honestly think they need to come up with better prizes for these charity auctions - like it wouldn't be that hard for her to get on a Zoom or phone call with the winner in real time and either play a song or just have a short chat. A pre-recorded performance is just lame, sorry.

Gawd, I try biting my tongue because I know it’s for charity, but this is just plain lame and impersonal.
We’ve seen her perform WAW dozens of times already, what’s the point? It’d be MUCH MORE interesting if the winner got the chance to request ANY song of hers, even if she has to pre-record it. She’s like “what’s the song that’s easiest to play and that I’ve done in every single livestream? WAW!” She’s always so predictable and that just doesn’t work when you’re and artist and you supposedly live by “creativity” and “innovation”. But oh well, I’m done with expecting decent things from her at this point. Is that too much that I’m asking for? Yes.

She could either have them donate for a chance to win and request any song (or one from a list of say 10 choices including non-singles and songs she hasn't performed in a long time) OR for a couple of dollars you could vote for a song from a list for her to perform and the winning song gets a special performance for all fans to see.

I mean I get why she chose WAW because it's her current anthem/charity single and all, but yeah I agree letting the winner choose the song would have been way cooler. Or she could at least perform it live over a Zoom call, maybe they just want to make sure there's no technical issues I guess.

Yeah probably also because this way there's no problem with time-zones if the winner is from Europe or Asia; also I think, it's some kind of gifts which remains to the winner, otherwise he should find a way to record it someway while watching live. But yeah, having the opportunity to pick an old song, maybe one she doesn't often perform and have a very quick talk to Avril about that song.. maybe , I don't know you pick Nobody's Home or Falling Fast and you get to listen to that song again, which otherwise would be impossible, also you can ask her about that song, some fun fact about when she wrote it.. I mean it would be so more interesting and I can bet people would pay $$$ for it.

Having a performance by Avril just for you is actually really nice. $10 bucks to enter is also good. But I don't ever win raffles. I am not going to spend that money for a song I don't like. If I got to pick the song then I would enter. But having WAW already picked is very disappointing. It's not exactly a fan favorite. I don't understand how she hasn't noticed how we have been asking for performances of the songs she hasn't performed from HAW.

I mean it would be so more interesting and I can bet people would pay $$$ for it. That would be a super clever thing to do, and so, so simple. Or a chance to hang out with her in the studio though video chat and have her play you a snippet of a new song. Something more up-close and personal. That’s what I can’t understand from her. She always tends to choose the easiest and fastest way instead of the most creative or artistic one. This is just her singing WAW, adding “this goes to NAME, thank you for your support!”, and not even interacting with the winner through a freaking Skype chat. But anyways, I’m sure a handful of people will participate and hopefully they’ll reach their goal. It’s just it would be better to offer something else. She’s stuck at home so why not commit a bit more to the cause? Make it worth it for both sides.

Funny isnt it, the first reaction from everyone here is “why not let the winner pick a song?” but neither Avril or any member of her team had that idea. They are beyond awful.
