Is there any experience better than listening to a brand spankin’ new album from beginning to end? I think TF not. I mean, if I could feel the way I do every time I listen to a new Ariana Grande song on a daily basis, I would be a literal ray of sunshine. Here are the best new albums to be released in 2019, so you, too, can ride that “just discovered my new fav song” high.
1 ‘Inner Monologue Part 1,’ by Julia Michaels
It’s always a gift to the world when Julia Michaels, the legendary songwriter who you should definitely know by now, releases her own bops. Inner Monologue Part 1 is Julia’s newest EP, and it’s sooo good. It even features Niall Horan and a really real song about anxiety with Selena Gomez.

2 ‘DNA,’ by Backstreet Boys
If you think I’m above making a “Backstreet’s back” joke here...I’m not. The boys really are back, and they brought jams with them. They’re also going on tour, which is also something that doesn’t sound like a thing you’d expect from 2019, but here we are.
3 ‘Thank U, Next,’ by Ariana Grande
Has there ever been an album with more revolutionary anthems than Thank U, Next? Maybe, but none of us have the time to listen to it because every single person in the world has “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” on repeat until further notice.

4 ‘The Love Train,’ by Meghan Trainor
Meghan Trainor has been singing about her “future husband” for a while, so it only made sense for her to drop an EP of love songs after marrying Daryl Sabara (aka Juni Cortez from Spy Kids).

5 ‘Head Above Water,’ by Avril Lavigne
Inspired by her tough battle with Lyme disease, Avril is back with a sixth studio album. It’s a balance of emotional ballads and super-fun songs like “Dumb Blonde” with Nicki Minaj.
6 ‘Betty,’ by Betty Who
Betty Who’s third album, Betty, is her first as an independent artist. It’s also prob going to become a replacement for every party playlist you’ve ever had.

7 ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ by Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish dropped her first album in March, and the internet collectively lost its mind. WWAFAWDWG? has a darker tone to her previous EP but is all the better for it.

8 ‘Cuz I Love You,’ by Lizzo
Cuz I Love You is actually Lizzo’s third album, but it’s a powerful breakthrough record that will help you get over your ex and start living your best life. TBH, what did we do before Lizzo was a playlist staple??

9 ‘Late Night Feelings,’ by Mark Ronson
With a truly stellar list of female cowriters and vocalists (seriously, we’ve got Miley! Camila Cabello! Alicia Keys!), this pop reflection on heartbreak has been described by Ronson himself as “sad bangers.”

10 ‘Happiness Begins,’ by the Jonas Brothers
After almost a decade, the Jonas Brothers are officially back with the feel-good pop album of the summer. Their sound has definitely grown up, meaning that you don’t have to bust out the 2008 Nick Jonas tee to enjoy...but, like, you still can.

11 ‘When I Get Home,’ by Solange
A gorgeous mix of jazz, R&B, and hip hop, Solange’s ode to Houston confirms the Knowles sister as a star in her own right. But you already knew that.
