^ Remember she joined a new management company a little while ago so her team now is different to the one before. We have no idea how they work but right now it seems they're doing a better job than her recent management

It would suck to get a great album with the type of music fans have wanted for such a long time only to then have the era ruined by messy planning and poor management.
Really hoping everything falls into the right place this time.

If the albums turns out to be rockier or punkier because of marketing on her "going back to her roots" then I'll be pretty dissapointed bout that.
I wish we could all drop our expectations when it comes to her and let her do the music she wants to do. I don't mind her doing pop-rock or heavier stuff, but I am afraid of both the expectations people are generating and the pressure she may feel from it.

Didn't she say she went back to her roots on HAW too? And she sort of did with making a christian song which is how she started in church.

It's very natural her combeback to a rockier sound. Her first decade in the industry was all about pop rock. Then the 2010's came with electronic music and synths more prominent and she became more and more pop. Now a new decade it's starting and she wants to be back at the beginning since her beloved genre its on the verge of a revival. She hinted at the next album being pop punk back in 2019 on that zach sang interview. She's doing it because she's reconnecting with herself. I don't see it as something she's forced? If this was really the case she would be back way earlier since people been asking for that since forever

I see what you mean, but to be honest she's had that feedback from fans on almost every album she released past TBDT and she still did the music she wanted in the end + the pop hits her label would send her back to the studio to record before approving the final product. The only reason people are being more vocal about their wishes of seeing her go back a rockier sound -- or "her roots", if you will -- is because Avril herself has been purposefully hinting at that for the last couple months. She was the one who chose to collab with Modsun, she was the one who started having studio sessions with Feldman and dropping hints on her socials for fans to see. Only then did this more intense wave of very noticeable excitement/expectation really started. Plus, if you go back to her interview with Zach Sang in 2019 you can see she was already thinking of her next album being more "fun and aggressive" with more "electric guitars and live drums in the mix". I think that + the fact the genre has seen a resurgence lately and she happens to be friends/acquaintances with the artists behind that resurgence was the actual reason she decided to follow through with making a pop-punk album. She most likely found herself excited by the genre again and thought the timing was right just like all of us do, specially considering her last album had a more serious tone and was very ballad heavy. Just saying “in a few weeks” or “March” or something would keep the hype pretty much alive. She can’t miss out on this opportunity to cause some major buzz.

I'm so happy she's confirmed her new album will be pop punk rock n roll! I've been waiting for this news for over a decade! However, I honestly wouldn't mind if she returned with a TBDT 2.0, as long as her lyrics were mature and of some sort of quality. I just hope she shares some information soon (lmao), but within the next 5 months.

I’m sure we’re going to a TBDT 2.0 I do think thats probably the direction, maybe less bratty. And I'm glad about that. Out of the three rock-influeced albums she had, even if not my favorite, I think it is the most genuine and well-rounded. But we will see. I wouldn't discard the possibility of pop songs and more darker songs in the mix though. She has always go a bit dark in all her albums except TBDT, and she has put very pop songs in all them. |

Don't you remember the clip she played us in studio? Sounds very speedy and her voice sounds so close to TBDT. Our assumption is always another meanimg based on Avril's words. Her definition is always far from what we thought like s**n lol. I think it's gonna be something like TBDT with more mature topics
