My bet is on Too Fast to Live being the album title. Shes riding motorcycles a lot. And that video with her saying "riding and writing into 2021 like..." gives me that vibe On one hand that seems very possible on the other it might end up very cringe. Because.... doesn't Mod Sun have that tattoo (above his crotch no less)? Naming your new come-back "returning to your roots" album after a tattoo of someone you're working with? Messy and weird. Maybe they are more involved with each other than we currently know in which case I've been lead to believe by this forum this album is now doomed and most of what we're seeing now will end up scrapped. Of all the possible names I've heard so far I definitely like "Ramona" the best.
I had no idea about this Now it makes everything so funny Avril really took inspiration from everywhere 😂 I personally hate self-titled albums no i'm not really here for Ramona |

Not to get too off topic here but “with” doesn’t need to be capitalized. It is grammatically correct to leave it as lowercase. Similar to “One of Those Girls” or “What the Hell” for example. Yes you’re right. I’ve never noticed before that it’s What the Hell. I always assumed song titles always had capitals at the beginning of the word. Shows how poor my grammar is...and yes I am English ha. In English capitals are used for the first letter of every word in a title e.g My Happy Ending however minor words like a/the/and etc can be lower case if they're not the first word so What the Hell and What The Hell can both be considered correct. Personally I would go with What The Hell because there's os few words in the title to start and they're all part of the same phrase so 'the' doesn't feel especially minor and it's more visually pleasing.
I'm with You isn't really correct because (apart from looking just plain weird) all the words are fairly minor ones so 'with' is of equal importance as 'I'm' and 'you.' Plus, being only 3 words long it just looks better if they all have capitals (especially since with is the longest too)

I'm not saying Avril should go ahead and copy exactly what her peers are doing, I just hope she feels inspired to perhaps take on an artistic challenge of her own and raise the bar for herself to make the album cycle more intriguing and a little different. I'm also more than fine with the typical "singles out, album out, tour" deal, but it would be exciting to see her thinking outside the box creatively. I really agree with this. A concept album or something with a strong identity would be great but please please please don't let her take so much influence from those around her that it all becomes generic and might as well be on any of their albums. "Avril Lavigne - ross got 3 divorces but i'm gonna beat that record" You just killed me with this.  I needed a laugh after a hard time. Thanks! I am probably in the minority that actually love when she went away from the rock vibe to other styles in the past years. But that's just my personal opinion. I get the feeling this whole MFP punk thing is a little bit pushed, either by her personally or by what the management team thinks its the best. I will judge when it comes, but if going back to rock means loosing the musical and lyrical growth she has experienced, then I'll be personally dissapointed. I'm with you in that minority! I quite like most of it tbh. I guess since I only became a fan recently I didn't quite experience the "betrayal" of the style/attitude changes as hard and therefore don't dislike the associated material. I also agree with this MFP "going back to her roots" etc thing feeling very pushed and like it's being manipulated from behind the scenes as I wrote in a post yesterday. I would really love a TBDT with the more mature attitude of HAW but seeing these track titles makes me lose faith in that dream. I had no idea about this Now it makes everything so funny Avril really took inspiration from everywhere 😂 I just remembered I saw that phrase somewhere connected to her recently besides the forum and now that I've realized this I'm cringing pretty hard if that is really a song name or the album title given this connection. Apple Music has “Mud On the Tires” for one of Brad Paisleys songs and it winds me up. I just pick and choose what looks right depending on the length of the words lol. I’d capitalise What The Hell/I’m With You but then (just plucking titles from my Apple Music), I’d put “Two Lanes of Freedom”. No idea what the actual rule is though. It’s only my native language  |

Do we know for certain these are Avril's songs? I'd assume so since there are songs featuring Mod Sun and MGK meaning it isn't their material, but I'm not sure if the producer is closely working with anyone else outside of Avril.

I just noticed Avril no longer follows BMG on instagram. I hope she switched labels. Would be dope if she was on the same label as MGK, Interscope Records. They know how to promote their artists.

So...it's actually a gramatical rule in english? lol, that's interesting. Indeed it is. In English capitals are used for the first word in a sentence, names, I, titles and proper nouns (names of people, places and things e.g England or Eiffel Tower)
Anyway, I hope the title is a surprise for us. Too Fast To Live is an old punk phrase so it's not exactly unique. Sounds generic to me and reminds me of Motley Crue's Too Fast For Love

I saw... almost 51 M on Facebook.. so many! if you consider how big Lady Gaga is, and she is almost 57 M.. Also on Spotify Avril grew a lot, she's now about 12 M 700 k monthly listeners and I'm pretty sure before Flames came out, so just ten days ago she was 11 M and something.. Spotify says she’s 328th in the world. Mad when you compare her to other artists. Pink is 118th and gets twice as many listeners at 23M and then surprisingly Kelly Clarkson is 58th in the world with 32M. I think both of them get more airplay than Avril and plus Kelly has a Christmas album which obviously has recently been played to death. Although saying that I would argue Kelly’s recent album didn’t perform very well. Interestingly Kelly was talking on her talk show recently about how other artists were mean to her in the beginning. I wonder if she’s referring to Avril who famously pushed her out of the way at the VMA’s. Although Kelly has also recently covered IWY on her talk show so I guess there’s no real bad blood. On 17th I had written Avril had 12 M 700K listeners on Spotify... Well 9 days later, she has now 13 M 441 K.... 700 k listeners in 9 days. And she was 11 M and something end of December. She's growing a lot right ?! |

I really don’t get any vibe from her that this pop punk, going back to her roots thing is forced. I think it probably came about naturally due to who she was working with. She was initially working with Travis who then introduced her to MGK who then introduced her to Mod and Feldman. It was a quite natural process, no forced collabs like her past labels made her do to make pop hits.
Pop rock has always been her roots, it’s what she is known for, and almost exclusively what she performs on tour. After such a ballad driven album with serious songs about Lyme and breakups, on top of a heavy year for everyone, it makes sense she wanted to return to her roots and do something upbeat, fast paced, with loud guitars and drums. I don’t feel anything is forced here. She probably realized now is the time to return to pop punk since it is having a resurgence in music and all her collaborators are having success with it. She is the queen of this genre, if anyone can make a comeback with it, it’s her and she probably realized now is the time more than ever for her to do it. She has probably wanted to return to her roots for years but knew it would flop given the music scene at the time.

The track Boys Lie Girls appeared back in December on the board and days later MGK showed up at the studio. Now we see the board again and it has MGK attached. It's too coincidental. Also, the Marshmello collab, ModSun collab, JamFam, it all points to her, and I'm sure this wasn't "accidentally" leaked. They're clearly preparing the terrain. There might be more songs though that aren't there. Maybe she had already recorded a few songs months prior. And maybe after John returns from his holidays they'll work on a few more. |
