I wonder if we’ll get any info on the album today. I bet everyone will be asking that during the Q&A. Hopefully she’ll give us a small update and not her typical “I’m writing a lot of songs, yeah, constantly writing” I think if she reveals anything at all it won’t be anything more specific than “I’ve been writing and recording a lot at home.” Now that she’s also moving, that’ll probably delay things for a while. Depending on if her new home has a studio or not and if it does, it’ll take a while for her to settle in and everything and get it set up.

I'm surprised that for many of you "having nothing to do during a global pandemic" equals "finding inspiration and motivation to work on a new album so that it can be released 2021". I have heard from many musicians that they dont feel like doing music at all, and like many other people who work from home now and practice social distancing, also for Avril it would be totally normal to feel like doing nothing (which is not nothing-nothing but not a lot). We also have no idea about her mental and physical health (she has a chronic disease) and personal situation. I don't expect her to do a full album during this pandemic. She loves being in the studio with friends, she loves to hang out with different musicians, she is awful in technical stuff, she is rather lazy when it comes to do stuff pro-actively... I dont see a new album anywhere near as all from these things are different or impossible right now. But maybe the big accounts (Twitter and Instagram) should make her aware of 20 years of Let Go, because I feel like she could be interested to do something special about it and her management could give her a bit of pressure and motivation ($) to think how she could celebrate it. I agree. I hate that most people think that staying home all the time=lazy. Well we are forced to stay at home because of the pandemic, I hate that it's so easy for people to say "oh you're probably just sitting on your ass at home, doing nothing, relaxing etc etc" while in reality this staying at home thing makes so many people feel so uninspired and even depressed. Well, the case with Avril is that she said she was working on AL7 in 2019. So it s easy to wonder whether she’s still working on it or not. And obviously her lack of engagement with fans, usually posting when she’s partying, allows such assumption like she’s doing nothing else. You know, the major problem with social media is that people believe that what they see it’s everything. Celebrating 20th anniversary of Let Go in style will be so great! But all in all it’s so far away anyways

We don't know where she is going, but presumably she's probably going to stay in the LA area and get another house. Or maybe she's going back to her house in Canada. She also mentioned some months back how much she missed NYC, maybe she wants to move there, I don't know, but with the quarantine right now it's probably best that she stay in the LA area.

When she says she's working on new music I always take it with a grain of salt due to her previous track record with release time frames, but a new single and album in 2021 would be fantastic, if not a bit of a fantasy.

Fans will be just happy if she gives us unreleased stuff at least. Like, an official release for Don't stop, Burning bright, the lucky ones, u know, a short EP with 5 songs and no need for single or music video.
I guess that could help to maintain the hype and it actually gives her more time to work on AL7

I can bet that WAW acoustic will be the bonus track on the new album.

I can bet that WAW acoustic will be the bonus track on the new album. That means the original vocals from the studio version with a stripped down instrumentation. WYWH, RNR? yeah, basically that xD

Lmao bad reputation 2.0? Idky she included it on GL expanded version on Spotify. It made sense for AL not GL.
It sucks that we're probably going to be hearing WAW for the rest of our lives. I bet that one and HAW will never leave her setlist now. Both songs in acoustic sound the same to me now.

I think the Bad Reputation thing was ebcause it was used on the One Piece:Film Z soundtrack in Japan and charted in the top ten there with no promo so it was used as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of GL which came out around that time so they probably used it for the spotify expanded because it was on one version of the album

Bad Reputation was included on the Japan edition of Goodbye Lullaby, which I was glad about since it was the first official release we had of the song. Seeing it reappear on Avril Lavigne as a bonus track was a little disappointing since we already had an official release of the song.

PS, I had heard about a "new version" of the cover How You Remind Me, like slower, but haven't heard it I think..
