^ I seriously hope not. There's no reason why it should be delayed considering she isn't going to be doing anything else for the rest of this year and possibly even into the first part of next year (I'll be very surprised if the rescheduled dates go ahead next year considering cases have been rising again).

Even more now that so so many artists are dropping albums, she shouldn’t stay behind this trend...and COVID is no excuse, many of these artists have worked on their albums in full during these months of the pandemic. Like said above, other than maaaaybe working on a cook book, she has nothing else to do (she’s not even a mother), so if AL7 isn’t dropped next year then it will be hilarious. At least drop the single sometime next year and album early 2022 at most. The 20th Anniversary of LG is in June, so if she’s got like a special tour planned or a re-release of the album, 2021 would be the ideal year for AL7. 2023 would be a freaking mess lmao.

I'm surprised that for many of you "having nothing to do during a global pandemic" equals "finding inspiration and motivation to work on a new album so that it can be released 2021". I have heard from many musicians that they dont feel like doing music at all, and like many other people who work from home now and practice social distancing, also for Avril it would be totally normal to feel like doing nothing (which is not nothing-nothing but not a lot). We also have no idea about her mental and physical health (she has a chronic disease) and personal situation. I don't expect her to do a full album during this pandemic. She loves being in the studio with friends, she loves to hang out with different musicians, she is awful in technical stuff, she is rather lazy when it comes to do stuff pro-actively... I dont see a new album anywhere near as all from these things are different or impossible right now.
But maybe the big accounts (Twitter and Instagram) should make her aware of 20 years of Let Go, because I feel like she could be interested to do something special about it and her management could give her a bit of pressure and motivation ($) to think how she could celebrate it.

I think the most likely outcome for AL7 is 2022 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of LG.
I know we all want to hear new music, but remember it was only last year she released an album, it just feels like a lot longer!

There are definitely many artists who say they aren’t feeling motivated or creative right now but on the flip side of that there’s tons who have released music (Taylor, Kelsea Ballerini, Ariana is releasing a new single tomorrow). We know Avril has been in the studio pretty much since quarantine started and she’s written tons of songs. It’d be different if she said “Eh I’m just not feeling inspired right now” but she has talked about writing a ton since quarantine started and working with various people. With all the songs she’s probably done so far, she could realistically release at least a single before the tour picks back up.
I think we could realistically see a new album by mid to late 2021. Provided that she doesn’t scrap everything and start over. It would be 2 years since HAW came out.

she literally said she had material for 2 albums back in the day before HAW. So yeah...she has the material.

I'm keeping my expectations for receiving new music in the next year or so low, rather expecting new music in late 2022 or 2023. I'd like to be optimistic as Avril has been writing a lot lately, but the waits for Goodbye Lullaby and Head Above Water were so long (even if justifiably due to Lyme) that I don't want to raise my expectations too high.

I think you all have great points. Personally, I don't get my hopes up for any new releases from her until mid 2021. I bet she doesn't even cancel the tour ahead of time when we can all assume by now that it's not happening. If she's smart as soon as she cancels it she releases a new single, EP, or surprise album. For her fans! She has a very dedicated fan base for someone so boring. Just saying. She's done a surprise engagement so why not an album Abbey come on! Anyways, this batch always says she's always writing and has a ton of material left over for the next album. It's been a decade and yet we've only seen 3 average albums. I have no faith in her releasing music in a timely manner. I just hope to God that it's worth the wait because I need some upbeat music a grown up can listen to and some good lyrics from her. Take your time but deliver me greatness. Btw you think those country songs sound dated now? She wrote them probably in 2015.

For Let Go’s 20th anniversary she should play the album in full, whether that’s via an online concert or an actual tour. Tours “playing *insert most popular album here* in full” seem to be becoming more and more popular.
I mean she won’t, but she should.
Re AL7, I’ll expect it in 2024 and be pleasantly surprised if it arrives earlier.

Lmao
Glad he has work.
As fans we can get excited by the littlest of things. That sometimes have nothing to do with her. That's why things are usually done on the DL.

I wonder if we’ll get any info on the album today. I bet everyone will be asking that during the Q&A. Hopefully she’ll give us a small update and not her typical “I’m writing a lot of songs, yeah, constantly writing”

I agree. I hate that most people think that staying home all the time=lazy. Well we are forced to stay at home because of the pandemic, I hate that it's so easy for people to say "oh you're probably just sitting on your ass at home, doing nothing, relaxing etc etc" while in reality this staying at home thing makes so many people feel so uninspired and even depressed.
