Who was that about again? Wasn’t it the guy from All American Rejects? It was Martin Johnson from Boys Like Girls. It was so weird to me at the time how he became a producer and got to work with Avril. I think her and Modsun consider themselves friends now. So I don't think things have changed as much as you guys think. There's a difference between becoming friends with someone you work with and working with someone because you're friends first. From the behind the scenes of TBDT you would have thought her and Dr Luke were best friends all of a sudden but they never hung out together outside of the studio, they just had fun while they worked together. |

Okey so one of the pictures that mod sun posted yesterday on his instagram there is a tape with Avril and Marshmello's name written on it! so she is definitely working on her new album:)
My bet is that she's making a pop punk album with some songs with electronica with marshmello and skrillex maybe

EDIT: On the tape you can also see the name of modsun and feldy, my bet is that it is the collaboration of the two (?) With a ft. With marshmello

But I'm not into the electronic parts for Avril. I feel like it's not her style at all. She'd sound good, don't get me wrong, but it's not Avril Lavigne. It's good for a feature, like them inviting HER not her putting it on her album. I feel it would be too forced if the whole album has electronic elements. Modsun also does this with his song Bones. He uses trap sounds towards the middle. So I'm down for a song but not a whole album with electronic sounds mixed in. I rather her go the MGK route pop punk but modern beats mixed in. Halsey also has beats on Nightmare. Harry Styles also uses real instruments and adds modern beats. Just add these elements subtly so her music doesn't sound dated. Or this song that includes rap and beats (btw one of my favorite bands. I was so surprised to hear on the radio with this song! Avril better get on radio this time).

Same. I don't want an electronic record. But a collaboration with some modern electronic twists and a famous dj like Marshmello can help Avril get back on the charts and make her next album more popular. The tape also says DECEMBER 2020. So maybe we heard it this month(?). I'm not sure if the collaboration will be released on the marshmello channel or it is the modsun album collaboration. Hope it's similar to the song from a day to remember.

What I could think of is that the collaboration is in Mod Sun's usual style ie. the genre his doing for this album but they're also planning a single release for this song so they sent it to Marshmello for a pop(pier) remix for radio? Or maybe this is all a reach and Mod Sun has one collab with Avril and then another with Marsmello. Or the collab for his album is with Marshmello only and he's working with Avril on her album. We should really keep it low-key until we get a real confirmation or even better a release date.  |

Lol yes we're getting ahead of ourselves.
Skrillex and Marshmallow? In one album or song together? FOR Avril Lavigne? That sounds so odd. Aren't they rival DJs too?
But I am interested in a collab with Marshmallow. The colab with Grey brought no exposure but with Marshmallow people might look into her own music.

Ugh, we were getting a pure pop-punk song and throwing in Marshmello will give it some twisted EDM shit, genre in which she sounds terrible signing in btw. Why couldn’t it just be them two? It will flop anyways...

Marshmello's manager shared avril's studio pic on his stories yesterday and tagged her only. Everything is making perfect sense now. Not to mention her store being down with a "coming soon" on it. Now the cassette with their names on it. Yeah i think something really it's coming

Couldn't it be that MArshmello is just doing the remix version of the song? And release the single with the remix version? Many artists do that. multiple versions of the same song.

There are so many options of what could happen.
- Avril/ModSun/Marshmellow working on her album together
- Av/Modsun have a collab for his album, Av/modsun/marshmellow working on her album together
- Av/modsun have a collab, marshmellow will remix the single version
I would prefer her not to do anything too electronic but little elements to modernise her pop-punk would be good.
I'm also hopeful that working with people like modsun who put out music much ore quickly will encourage her to do the same. I can imagine someone like him saying "hey, if you like the song let's put it out straight away. It's so good, let's just do it!" and her getting caught up in that. Which would be excellent for us

I just want a HIT just to let people remind who is Avril Lavigne. To finally be able to listen Avril on the radio again, no matter what genre is the song. I think it is the best way for Avril's career just to show up in media again for any time! So i really wish this could happened, since Wings Clipped wasn't publically popular.
