AL7 Album Speculations Thread

EDIT: ohhh Alison Hagendorf! Hope she gets Avril on her podcast. That would be dope as Avril says. She followed the curator or the playlist? It would be cool if she makes the rock playlist. It's pretty easy. There's some songs that don't even sound rock but are in there.


She's making it seem like the album is basically done but I have a feeling it's just a few singles...some collabs. I hope by the next 3 months that she officially spills the beans on what time of the year we can hear her full album.

Before deciding on the final tracklisting and the lead single there’s a meeting with so-called representative from Spotify/Apple, in the past mostly from the most popular radio stations, along with the label people to discuss the album, singles and the promo schedules. Than the album goes to its final stage studio work 🙂

I swear at first I thought the picture was from either 2004 or 2007. Gawd.

That’s it, I’m boarding the clown wagon because I’m excited as fuck now. Pop-punk, MGK, Travis, John, Avril basically teasing the songs are almost ready, answering fans, like actually interacting with us. I can’t go back now lol. I’M HYPED.

I’m obviously excited for new music cos it’s Avril, but I really haven’t been listening to a lot of pop-punk recently, so I’m a bit like... i need to hear a bit before I’m too excited. But pop-punk was my first music love, and I do still love it, I just never go to listen to it anymore. If anyone’s gonna make me fall back in love with it it’ll be Avril I suppose, but I was buzzing for those country songs she mentioned!

It is good to see how passionate she seems about it this time though. And the fan interaction. I feel like the lyme concert thing really brought the discontentment in the fanbase to a head and they seem to really be trying to fix it, which is great!

While Modsun is an artist who flies a lot under the radar on mainstream, MGK is not. So the fact she got him to be a part of her album in any capacity at all is pretty fucking exciting. MGK is basically responsible for this revival era of pop-punk and his fanbase has grown tremendously this year with his album getting a lot of attention and critical acclaim. The two of them joining forces could really help expose Avril to a new, more current audience and improve her streaming numbers as well as give her more credibility and relevance again.

Ugh, this is all just very exciting. Above all, SHE seems excited. She looks like she's got her fire back. Now she REALLY needs to release music quickly because timing is absolutely EVERYTHING and it could make or break her attempt of a powerful comeback.

I hope she retains this enthusiasm even once the album drops and that she's still as passionate about the music as she seems to be now, also that she will actually talk in depth about it in interviews too. That's cool that ModSun is filming some stuff, I'd really love to see another "Making Of" documentary like we had in TBDT era. When you see what goes on behind the scenes and how the songs come about, it really just adds a whole new layer to how you listen to the music. I feel like the fun energy you see when she was working with Dr. Luke really came across in the songs. I kind of get that same vibe here, she's not only doing pop punk music again, but seems to be passionate about what she's doing and working very hard and quickly.
