While Avril illustrated her own rap skills on 2002's "Nobody's Fool", the Dr. Luke remix of "Girlfriend" and "Dumb Blonde" still stand out as unique songs in Avril's discography due to their collaborative nature with a rapper. Lil Mama and Nicki Minaj both made contributions to their respective featured songs, appearing for at least an entire verse in each song. Predominately focusing on the verse(s) Lil Mama and Nicki provide in the songs as opposed to the songs as a whole, who do we think contributed the best verse(s) to their respective song? And with that, which in general do we think is the better song?

Neither is really that great but I think the GF remix is better than DB. Nicki only contributes like 1 verse and I don’t think the lyrics are anything special. I never understood anything Lil Mama was saying but damn she can rap fast lol I feel like Lil Mama just flows in the song while Nicki’s contribution feels more like an afterthought - because it basically was. The GF remix was a planned thing while the DB remix was meant to be a digital exclusive I guess.

^ I agree with Bogo, and if I have to choose I'd prefer the one with Lil Mama

Wasn't lil mama a fan of the song and made her own version with her rap on then Avril and her label loved it and made it an official bside? I'm sure I remember that being the story. It's the better guest appearance, no doubt

Someone has to go first to say Dumb Blonde so here I am. I really like Nicki's part in it tho Lil Mama is fast but this thing she did with with Nicki suits her!

Dumb Blonde. I don't think either bring anything to the song but I can tolerate Nicki's part. The Lil Mama version of GF is just painful

I played the Lil Mama version randomly a few days ago. It was really fun. So I played it again a few days later and it didn't hit the spot again. It is too much Lil Mama and she raps really fast and not exactly something that's catchy or that makes all that much sense like bringing something new to the song like Katy said. It is basically a Lil Mama song soundtracked to GF and cheerleader Avril.
On DB, I was excited because I like a few Nicki songs but it was meh. I also can't stop thinking about the controversy surrounding her about her husband and brother. What they were convicted of kind of goes against the whole empowerment theme of DB.
So I guess GF remix collab for the win!

I never understood anything Lil Mama was saying but damn she can rap fast lol Oh man, the memory of her verse is still so clear in my mind, while I still have no idea what she's really talking about either

I'd rather listen to nails on a chalkboard, than either one of those songs. So, I vote none of the above.

^ Haha, ditto; however I like the GF remix better than Dumb Blonde, so Lil Mama it is!
