I was wondering if the admins or the owner of this forum/site have to pay for this forum/site to get it to work and stay up on the internet? I know that when the URL was avrilbandaids.com you had to pay for domain and everything. But still that URL doesn't work anymore, do you still have to pay for maintenance or something?

Someone on here will know more than me but AFAIK we only pay for the Bandaids trademark (I think, and I think the owner of the site Sharifa is the one who owns the trademark and allows us to still use it), but the actual website is hosted through ProBoards which is free. When it was it’s own website we paid for it. |

I meant to respond to this a few days ago. The short answer is, none of the forum staff have to pay anything, for this forum to continue, as long as we have the permission, of the trademark owner, to use the name, avrilbandaids. We don't need the avrilbandaids domain name, to operate. At this point, the cost to maintain the registration, of the avrilbandaids.com domain name, is very small. There is a difference, between maintaining registration and hosting. Apparently, the domain is no longer being actively hosted. The last I knew, it was hosted by godaddy.com. When it was, there was a simple redirect, to this free forum. Godaddy will deactivate a domain, if it goes more than a year, with no traffic, or customer login. Since most members/fans know to come here directly, using the ProBoards domain, this is probably what happened. Ownership can, and most likely will be maintained, by the original owner, as long as they continue to pay the very, very small registration fee, every three years.
