She could have easily left the posts up thanking her guests and fans for donating and turned comments off if she didn’t want to see the negativity instead of just deleting them altogether like it never happened. They got their money for the charity, so of course they don’t care anymore. And they will probably never hold another event like it again. Not because fans hated it but because they never do things like this more than once. Example: Avril kept saying she’d want to do another FB or IG live and never did them again.

She always looks awkward in those livestreams, don't know if its the Melissa questions or the marriage proposals. But whenever they ask her if she wants to answer questions it looks like she'd rather be anywhere else. I get a lets only do that once a year vibe.

But I can totally understand that she feels uncomfortable in those situations. She must've gotten a lot of weird questions from fans throughout the years and she can't just say "Hey, what a f*cked up question is that?!". Even though I'd love to see that happen 😂

I think she does enjoy doing them because she always says she wants to do another one but then never does. Why that it is, I don't know. She probably gets ideas and then forgets about it by the next day.

I have to disagree with that. Comments turned off in instagram looks EXTREMELY bad. It basically says something controversial happened, and people will probably go to the next or previous post to talk about it. This way, new people that come won't even know something happened.
not saying it was the smartest decision but an apology would have also brought more attention to it, and that's the least they want. So i guess i kinda understand why she did it.

It's like #fightlyme didn't happen on her instagram. Maybe so casuals don't go looking into it. But on the foundation it's still up and a lot of thank you replies were made to the nice comments.
About the Q&A, I don't think that's her problem with Q&As. In professional interviews she's the same way. Plus she can get someone to be a prompter like her friend Lauren was giving her the questions when she did the first performance of WAW. I think she does like talking to fans just not like that. Because after HAW shows she came out to sign things for almost all shows in good spirits just because she wanted to. Omg that's never gonna happen again is it? Thanks to covid we probably lost that chance of her coming out after shows to see fans.

I’ve just paid $20 for bowling for soups show on Saturday. They’re doing 2 shows to cater for different time zones so I can watch it live, they’re doing a full show, hits, deep cuts and even a brand new song nobody has heard before, and it’s available for 72 hours afterwards. could’ve paid an extra few dollars to watch the acoustic soundcheck tomorrow which will actually be a live soundcheck and not two prerecorded songs cut from the actual set list. funny what smaller artists than Avril can do isn’t it....!

Yesterday I watched a livestream on Youtube of an independent artist I love. She's called Alexz Johnson (maybe one or two might remember her from a show called Instant Star back in the late 00s). It was her birthday and she decided to give us fans a small acoustic 10-song set from her home. She had previously taken song requests and played only requests from the fans, from Instant Star songs (she played a singer and released 4 albums, something like Miley did with HM), which she has never played live since the show ended in 2008, to songs from her studio albums, to a demo leaked song for the first time. And she answered like 30+ questions. All of this entirely free, I just couldn't help but sighing at how this woman strives to put out an album, is INSANELY talented, works her ass out for her fans and pours her soul and heart into every appearance she makes, and then Avril, the millionaire who can do almost whatever she wants and has the money for it, gives 0 damns about giving back to her fans and when she screws up, she just wipes away her mess leaving no trace. Comparing isn't the best thing I know, but come on. I can't think of another artist who gives so little in return but her, and it's sad.

It might have something to do with the fact smaller artists probably feel they have to work harder to maintain their fans interest and also give back to them because they need them to stay afloat. Whereas success always came relatively easily to Avril, she hit it big right out of the gate, and that isn’t to say she didn’t work hard or doesn’t know how lucky she is/appreciates what she has, but I think you can’t truly appreciate or know how lucky you are unless you have previously experienced less success or seen what smaller artists go through by comparison. She got signed to a record deal on the spot which doesn’t typically happen and had hits immediately with her first album. Up until her 5th album she never toured as an opening act for anyone. She has millions and millions of fans around the world who are always going to support her, she made millions of dollars and never has to work again if she chose not to, she’s basically set and secure for life. She probably doesn’t feel that obligated to give back to her fans or feel like she has to work that hard because she’s not going to lose anything if she doesn’t. Whereas these other artists have to work really hard just to stay afloat because they don’t have that kind of security.

When you have enough fame you can get away with a lot of things, look at Justin Bieber, I have seem videos of him where he treats people like absolute crap. It really blows my mind as to how people can overlook that! In one video I saw him treating a differently abled poorly. It was heart breaking.
At least Avril is not like that.. I'd have zero respect for her if she did that. I don't understand why his fans defend him for his behaviour. I don't follow him so can't comment if he has changed.

I agree, but if she feels like she has no obligation to give back to fans then she doesn’t deserve fans.
It’ll come back to bite her in terms of future success eventually I think. She won’t care because she’ll be in her mansion with her millions in the bank, but I hope one day she looks at other artists, smaller ones than her and bigger ones than her (taylor swift, Luke combs for example) and realises that’s the kind of treatment the people who put you in such a privileged position deserve.

I discovered Alexz when a brazillian TV channel aired Instant Star in 2005. I instanstly (ha!) became a fan of the series. The same channel aired The Ashlee Simpson Show also in 2005. Their Avril influences got me crazy at that time. I was 12 and their albums (Autobiography and Instant Star 1&2 soundtrack) were always on my repeat during that entire year. I'll check Alexz live stream. She's so talented!

Here's a good example of a real live stream concert:
Me and my friend (which is also an Avril fan) were discussing last night about how this concert is the perfect example of what #FightLyme and Head Above Water Tour concerts should've been. Sandy is very popular in Brazil since she was a kid and she also started her career as a mainstream bubblegum pop singer. Now that Avril's +35 I was really expecting something really matured from her career and work. I still don't get why Avril didn't call her entire band to work in this benefit concert. By the way, #Fighlyme ticket was discounted from my salary yesterday. What a pain! (dollar costs 5x more in Brazilian coin).
Take notes, Jenn Tolman!

This makes Avril's concert look like a joke...
