A little preview she posted of the new single: Video is 3:19 long but it loops after about 30 seconds I think. For some reason I got mixed up and thought tomorrow was the 13th. A bit disappointing realizing it’s only the 11th today. Can already tell this single’s gonna be great too. I liked the first album of course but it might be a little hard to go back and listen to it after this, so far this second album has been such a leap forward in my opinion. She’s definitely getting better.  |

So as anyone here who has Spotify probably already knows, Spotify Wrapped 2020 out. Got Diamante as my #1 artist, was actually a bit surprised. Anyway she’s reposted a bit of fans posts who have tagged her in their Spotify Wrapped posts on her Instagram story. So I tagged her too, mine didn’t get reposted on her story like a bit other of other people’s, BUT I checked back a few hours later and she actually viewed my post. That’s cool enough in my opinion. This is probably unfair since most people probably had a true mainstream artist as their #1, but how many other people had their top artist actually see their post?  |

Still slowly discovering her but I love her voice. Think she may join the ranks of my golden trio Lzzy Hale, Taylor Momsen, Dorothy. Diamante and Orianthi are coming for them jk there's room for all of them. My favorite song right now is Obvious.

Can finally revive this thread, feels like it’s been so long since she released the final single. We finally have the album release date and title. It’s called American Dream coming out May 7th. Not quite what I was expecting but I definitely like it. I’ve kinda played the singles to death at this point lol, can’t wait for the full album.  |

Day 1 of the new album guys! UnderAlexSkin Jimmyzz biggerwowVery good album, a leap forwards from her 1st for sure. This is one of those rare albums for me where I don’t see any obvious ‘skip’ songs on it, I’ll probably be able to keep coming back and listening to the full album. 4.5/5 from me.
My only real complaint isn’t even with the music, it’s with the whole ‘slowly release half the album as singles then release the full thing after people have had months to play the first half to death’ strategy. I don’t like when an artist goes ‘singles crazy’. Dropping 6 tracks from it before the official full release when there’s only 11 on the album isn’t great. People hearing it for the first time will be very happy with it, but if you’re already a fan her approach takes away some impact from an awesome album IMO.
Since there’s no label I assume these choices were all her’s, if she’s still doing her own thing by then hopefully she rethinks this part of it for album 3. If an album is only 10 or 11 tracks, releasing more then 3 songs ahead of time is too much IMO. It’s a bit of a ‘movie gives away too much of the plot in trailers and teasers feeling’.

I’m sure finishing and releasing an album independently alongside finishing College isn’t easy and took a lot of time and energy, but it is a shame she botched this a bit on the final stretch. Maybe when it’s finally time for album 3 it’ll be a better release with less on her plate and more experience without a label. It does kinda suck though that I can’t be as excited for it as I thought because I’ve already heard like 60% of it a lot already. I guess it’s more of a problem now then it will be in the future though. The music: 4.5/5 The music release: 2/5 (or is that too nice? Haha) |

In case anyone else is interested, just realized she went on this podcast called ‘She Will Rock You’ early last month right before the album came out for one of their ‘Meet The Artist’ episodes. She posted about it on her Instagram story yesterday so I went and checked it out. It’s on Spotify.
Lasts 32 minutes. She answered some questions, went through the track list talking a bit about each song. Name dropped Avril and a few other artists as what she grew up on and inspiration for ‘I Love Myself For Hating You’. Worth a listen I’d say.
