To be honest the Melissa thing still gets talked about by non fans mostly. I hear loads of my friends who are not fans saying sheβs dead and replaced by a clone. Itβs not a big deal, it puts her in the same conspiracy theory bracket as Paul McCartney! I-I think it's bigger. Doubtful. Being as it was recorded a week ago and that his videos seem to be more cinematic, using special effects and stuff, it might take a bit longer than this week. Iβd say by the end of this month.

Also he just released that movie thing with MGK last Friday, he probably doesnβt want to oversaturate people with content or take attention away from his current project by releasing some other new thing.

I honestly don't mind waiting for the music video and I would understand if they didn't release it until February. Of course I look forward to watching it but we already have the song and pictures from the photo shoot. Besides, Machine Gun Kelly's film Downfalls High, which is also directed by Mod Sun, has just been released. He probably wants to do some promo beforehand.
Anyways, I think the mv will have He Wasn't / Sk8er Boi vibes. What do you think?

The audio just hit 1M views on youtube. It's still getting consistent views considering it was released 11 days ago.
It would be nice to have the MV this week, but I'm also not betting on it. I hope they can schedule everything ahead of time for Avril's album to manage these time gaps more effectively. I'm still waiting for a song release + MV on the same day from her. With an official countdown premiere on Youtube. And a quick live chat beforehand to draw as much attention as possible to it. Hopefully at least her lead single will have a more modern approach when it comes to divulgation.

I'm still waiting for a song release + MV on the same day from her. Girlfriend, Let Me Go and Tell me it's over got released like that. Edit: And I didn't count some songs because they were already released on the album. For example IFILWD's music video was released the same day as the single, BUT oh well, we already knew about the song, that's why I didn't count those songs. It happened the same with WYWH. |

It's something I see big artists doing all the time for their main releases and it's a great way to not only draw more attention to the videos but turn things into an event -- a release party, if you will. Quite effective to capitalize on dem early views, which tend to be the most substantial.
