Yeah the non screaming parts were OK. Obviously this was a kidding/jam moment. You can see they're kids just having fun.
But band like that have hard-core fans that won't give it a rest.

Unfortunately, she did it AGAIN at a show in London with her full band. It was SLIGHTLY better. there was really bad crowd cam footage from it.
edit i found the audio:
i remember the video being odd cause she was wearing her Flying V guitar but doing nothing with it haha.

Can we talk about Avril's live cover of "Chop Suey"? Avril being unintelligible throughout half the song Someone in the audience loudly asking "what?" because they can't understand Avril The like to dislike ratio on the video lmao I forgot all about this. that was a good laugh

Perhaps my comment should go in the Unpopular Opinion thread, but I keep believing the Sk8er Gurrl reputation was some marketing strategy. She can ice skate alright but she can barely stand on a skateboard.

Yeah Avril did skateboard a bit in high school and clearly did it for fun but I think her label and the media just decided to run with it all throughout LG era to further emphasize how different she was from the other pop stars. It also ended up being a good branding strategy because she ended up selling her own skateboards as merch and so many more girls got into skating because of her. To her own credit, she never claimed to be a pro and even outwardly said how dumb she thought it was that the media made a big deal out of it. The best I’ve seen her be able to skate is doing an ollie during the making of TBDT. During the TTSMU tour you also see her riding around through the arena. Ever since she’s had Lyme she’s seemed to have gotten way worse though, like when she skated with Zach Sang someone had to hold onto her as she stepped onto the board and here what she’s doing is barely moving. Maybe after Lyme she just couldn’t do it too well anymore.

Just didn't hear a single word she was singing. How come did no one tell her that bad in rehearsal? lol

The fact that she's continuously yawning and her two-worded answers. The interviewer really did his best and made some awesome questions, and she was into some of them, but she kept shutting her eyes and showing boredom. Lol cringey AF. I laughed when he mentions The Flock, which she completely hated being a part of because she was there like for 2 seconds and she completely shuts her eyes and inhales lmao. Definitely has a resting bitch face/voice PS: I wonder what movie she was going to film in late 2007 that got scrapped.

^ I'm not seeing what you're referencing in this video. She did yawn a few times and didn't cover her mouth, but otherwise this seems pretty typical of her TBDT era interviews. I'd actually say it's probably one of her better ones. She seemed to give good answers without coming off bratty or arrogant the way she would sometimes in other interviews of that era. I like that for some of the questions he asked about how she felt growing up in the public eye, how she felt about her early success, that kind of thing, she didn't complain about anything or take anything for granted the way some famous people probably would. She didn't have anything bad or negative to say about what it's like being famous, or feeling like she missed out on anything, and recognizing how lucky she was to have the kind of success she had early on.

The film was likely Twist of Fate, a scrapped thriller drama originally set for release in 2008. The plot focused on a couple who was responsible for a car accident that killed the fiancé of a local young socialite, with the couple failing to report the accident. Avril was in talks to star in the film and she talked about it in 2007 to a couple news outlets, including MTV. Avril also actually has an unreleased song called "Twist of Fate" ("When Will This Be Over" as an alternate title), so she may have written a theme song of sorts for the film.

^ Interesting! I never knew that. I knew about the unreleased song, but never knew it was tied in with a film, or I think I did know it was for a film, but never knew Avril was supposed to be in it.

Yeah, that's true, but I mean, who yawns at an interview more than once? haha. She looks very bored, but I agree that she seemed genuinely interested in giving some of those answers and maybe we could take it as an informal conversation she'd have with any acquaintance, and that she was "chilled and comfortable"? She may come off as someone who would rather be anywhere else. Maybe we know her better in that sense, but I'm sure the interviewer must've felt a bit awkward with some of her manners.

If I had to guess she was probably just tired which I think is understandable.

That bit at the end about films... “I’ve been offered scripts...I have an agent...I’m just being really selective” as if she’s angelina jolie or something lmao

Haha I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that though. She’s not an actress, she’s not known for being in films, people recognize her as a singer. So if she’s going to take the rare opportunity to act in something, it should be a project that suits her and how she wants to come across. Aside from working actors who are just looking to break into anything, most actors are selective with what they audition for. She may have gotten asked to do parts she thought didn’t fit her. I wouldn’t be surprised if she got typecast and kept getting roles to play like the dumb blonde sidekick or something and I get the sense she was after more serious, dark roles.
