I would like to know if any of you would be happy if there would be a sequel (book and/or movie) of Harry Potter. Iv'e never actually asked someone or read something about it, so I thought I could ask you.
I can imagine that there will be a lot of people who would fight about that. The one group would say "yes, omog a dream would come true!!" and the other ones would say "please not!! HP is fine as it is, leave it in silence. The only thing you can do with a sequel is to destroy everything". What do you think about it?
I know that JK Rowling said that she could easily write a 8th, 9th or 10th book but do you think she will ever do that?

I don't want a sequal unless it would be really something different, not typical young Harry or his kids at school, it would cheapen Harry Potter for me. But I would read it regardless ha ha. I'm a total HP nerd. I started a HP fan thread too here if anybody's interested.

I don't care that much about the movies, I only liked the first two. But when it comes to the books, I thought that each one was better than the last and the fifth was my favorite. But then came the horrible sixth and seventh book. So if JK Rowling wrote new books that are as good or even better than the first five, then yes! Definitely, I want a sequel! But if they're as bad as the last two books... no thank you.

I am really conflicted about a Harry Potter sequel because I am a massive fan and would love to be able to read more about the wizarding world, find out more about what happens to all of the characters etc but at the same time I think that HP is perfect as it is. I really love things like Pottermore for the fact that you do get little snippets of information not included within the books or movies, and there's also the stage show Harry Potter And The Cursed Child due to start next year but for now I would say to leave it as it is as far as books are concerned.
However, I do think that a series about the life of Gellert Grindelwald would be fascinating, plus there would be more Dumbledore and who doesn't love Dumbledore.

The movie adaption of the Half-Blood Prince on the other hand ... well let's just say it could have been a million times better.

My fave book is OotP and I loved the last 2 movies although Umbridge in OotP was just....wow..you just wanted to slap her! And lets not even start on the genius that was Alan Rickman as Snape.

Btw can a mod merge this and my Harry Potter fans thread? if silent soul doesn't mind. I don't care whose gets merged into whose. I'm sure we can discuss all HP related content in one thread.

I loved the books- and I have to say the movies are very good as well. Actually they were the first long books I read in English because I just couldn't wait for them to be translated @silent Soul, what's that sequel thing?

I simply LOVE the Harry Potter books! I've read them more often than I can count, at least 15 times, and they never get boring. The movies... well, the first and the second one were really good, the third one was good if you don't compare it with the book and the rest were okay/meh. Except for the sixth one - that was just... EDIT: the last two movies were good too but I think they could have been better. I didn't really like the acting sometimes, it seemed kind of forced. And Deathly Hallows Part 2 started really great but then there's this whole "Let's finish this the way we started.... together!" and Harry and Voldemort jumping off this bridge and then Voldemort can't even die properly, he just dissolves into a million pieces. I mean, wtf is that supposed to be about???
