Since we keep talking about leaked songs from LS, has it already been discussed in this thread that Bite Me had an alternative version with a different bridge? It was much more Halloween-ish. I don't see people talking enough about it. It seems like it's one of her most hidden songs. Never heard of it, but I'm curious. |

It's not hunting season (...) but she'll eat his heart like a f* cannibal.' I think they scrapped this part because it's so explicit. The bridge has more lyrics and drums, and there's a male backing vocal, probably Mod Sun's. |

Yeah, I kinda think the timing would have been terrible for it. The Dahmer series premiered a couple of months later and boosted Kesha's Cannibal streams a lot, and even Katy Perry's Dark Horse since they both mention cannibalism and spread TikTok edits. Bite Me was used too, but only in a few videos – and I'm glad for that. I think it's such a bad thing to go viral for. Streams are nice, but real people were murdered because of it. It was not just a TV show, so I don't think it’s worth it.
Real stuff was also happening at the time, with all the drama involving Armie Hammer, etc. The alternative bridge is far from bad, I think it's actually pretty decent. But I think it's too explicit, so it was better to dodge it. I love the song the way it was released tho.

My issue with it is more that I just think the lyrics are cringe and those types of such graphic/violent kinds of lyrics are not Avril’s brand, they seem a bit out of place. The rewritten bridge is more in line with her usual style of writing.

Like it sounds too creepy for avril but maybe they could work with it and include more sentences in bridge but yeah it end up in good way at the end anyway

I think they planned it for Halloween but changed their idea cause of how explicit it could be. It's not bad, it's actually pretty decent and catchy! But it's not Avril songwriting style. |
