I'm not very active here, but came just to post a few things haha 1) I sent a message to Rick Nowels and he answered me saying that they wrote "Fall Into The Sky" in the early 2000's. Pretty sure this one is from the Let Go sessions (some insiders had already mentioned it before too) 2) "Half Full" and "Let's Get Weird" are both from HAW sessions 3) There's also an extended version of "Bite Me" Interesting, hard to believe Half Full is from HAW sessions i told that here a hundred times lol |

It sounds a lot like that era, both the song itself and Avril's voice. Plus apparently it was gonna be on the 20th anniversary re-release but was taken out last minute. Let's Get Weird sounds like it was from AL5 but the bridge sounds straight outta Head Above Water. I'm gonna guess that it was one of the first songs she wrote for HAW, kinda in between eras. Half Full sounds like it's from The Best Damn Thing, I never woulda guessed it was from HAW. Super interested in the extended version of Bite Me. I love demos/alternate versions, it's interesting hearing the evolution of a song plus in some cases they're better than the final versions. |

When Rock Boyfriend first leaked I really wasn't feeling it but I listened to it again today and now I actually think it's pretty cool. I've got it on repeat right now.

I listened to Let's Get Weird last night and realized that it sounds like Rock Boyfriend and Trophy Boy.
Also, been listening a lot to Lucky Ones. I wish she'd released this song but it doesn't sound like she wrote this song. It is something she would sing but there's something about the lyrics that have me thinking Lauren probably had more to do with the songwriting. If it was Lauren who wrote it, I'm not sure who the writers are on this song. Anyway, I think it would fit a country pop album, maybe she can give it to someone else.

I think Head Above Water was originally planned to have a prominent piano sound all throughout. It makes sense because her ballads has piano moments like When You're Gone, Innocence, Remember When, Hush Hush, Goodbye etc. I put the leaked songs and all of them have piano moments. Majority of these songs were early works of HAW:

It Was In Me
Don't Stop
In Touch

Lights Out
Warrior
--"Dumb Blonde" & "I Fell In Love With The Devil" were songs about Rotem.
--"Souvenir", "Love Me Insane" & "Bigger Wow" were registered late.
--"Tell Me It's Over" & "Goddess" were the new song titles appeared when they revealed the official tracklist.
By the way, I prefer this than the original tracklist of HAW and I always played these songs in this order. I just add "Tell Me It's over" after "Birdie" to balance "Crush".

Tragic story theirs was btw. But remember how we thought before Love Sux was announced that the album would be called too fast to live and have like a punk theme to it?
