Here's a thought. As AI gets better and more believable it might kill things from leaking. If you can't tell whether something is a real leak or a song written by someone else with an AI voice then people might lose interest in leaks since they have no way of knowing if they're real or not I can see it being confusing for things like demos!! But for like… actual songs of unreleased music we know the titles of already, I don’t know how they’d AI their way through that. It works by replacing the voice. And what if a fan, who is a hobby songwriter, uses the title to write an original (with or without ChatGPT), makes instrumentals in the style of pop punk (AI is making progress to do that too) and then lets the Avril AI produce the vocals? I believe not too few will be able to do this, as there are cover musicians that can write songs and there are remix artists. Sooner or later I expect such songs to appear, because with Avril's voice AI you are a big step closer to get your song sung by Avril or to produce songs with her voice in the style you (or a majority of the fans) love. Of course it is not the real deal but the AI will be pretty much indistinguishable in the near future. There'll be official releases and similar fan-made songs. What do you guys think?

I think by the time ai gets so advanced that it can match the exact voice of an artist there will be laws brought in that will basically make it illegal to do so. YouTube, Soundcloud will probably also just delete/remove anything that is ai.

Yes or I bet there will have to be some disclaimer on it that it’s AI.

I think at a certain point of time theres going to be laws but well, there are also laws about stealing music or other copyright stuff, it could be similar if you use the voice of a person to when you use a picture or work of a person. And then everything is different in other countries, too. I think it should just be deleted, lol. We are not ready.

These AI lyrics are more like a story than a real song. Maybe tell the AI to add metaphors in the song too, so it doesn't feel like an elementary school student homework. Pretty much as most of Avril's songs.

But I just listened to this Lana Del Rey song, i think from Born to Die album, and then thinking to myself "wow the lyrics are pretty basic and just like Avril, why the hell people think she can write lyrics". I just listened to Lana since a few days ago.

Okay, then how many of us wrote some catchy songs? Im just wondering because lately I read a lot about her non existing songwriting skills. Lets have a contest, we can all try to write a song about her latest break up and process whats been happening...

And simply doesn't mean bad songrwiting, they are just basic and plain.

My issue with Avril’s lyrics is that she never seems to evolve as a songwriter. Writing lyrics has never been her strong point, she’s always been better at writing catchy hooks and melodies, but you’d think by now she would have improved at least somewhat by being in the business for 20 years and working with professional writers. Her self writtens are honestly not bad and I like her solo writes on LS, but many times she goes with the same rhymes she has used so many times before. She rarely goes into detail in the lyrics or tells a story. It’s always just “you lied to me and you hurt me, fuck you, you suck.” But we never know exactly why or there’s never anything more to it. Her lyrics are usually just flat and vague. I can almost predict when hearing her songs for the first time what words come next because she uses the same rhymes and words over and over. Her lyrics are predictable.

I get your points guys but thats Avril, I dont expect a Swift from her (and I dont want it, although I like Taylor. I like both for who they are). I sometimes think she does it as a kind of protection, that she does what has worked before and doesnt share her more deep and personal lyrics Like she actually didnt want to put DTLM on the Album because she is so vulnerable in it or she wants to keep private what happened or she wants the song to work with various different situations and people. I think she even said that before. Sure she could come up with some new words but why would she if it works this way as well.

She can write a song but her lyrics have never improved - in fact they’ve gone downhill to an extent. Quite happy for her to work with songwriters to get better songs.

I agree on this to an extent but I also think frankly she’s just complacent and lazy. She clearly goes with the first draft of lyrics for the most part and doesn’t seem to go through a lot of revisions. There’s a reason why she’s able to write so many songs in a short amount of time. I think she just writes the first thing that comes to mind and moves on to the next thing.
