Avril Lavigne: 2002 x 2021In June, 2021, Avril Lavigne made her TikTok debut at age 36, but somehow she doesn't look a day over 18!
In the TikTok video, she lip-syncs her 2002 hit song 'Sk8er Boi,' wearing a red-and-blue striped tie, a black graphic tank, long black shorts, black sneakers, and heavy eyeliner. Even her signature blonde hair was straightened and her nails were coated in black polish—looking like she stepped out of our old pop punk dreams. Even better is that right before the chorus the camera transitions via the tie to none other than real-life skater boy Tony Hawk, who showed off some moves on a ramp. The singer captioned her clip: "He was a... @tonyhawk #GoSkateboarding."
Over 2.5 million people have liked the video, and the comment section blew up with awe at how ageless Lavigne is. One user wrote, "Girl hasn't aged since 2000," and another called her a "non-aging vampire." Perhaps it's the eternal flame of angst that she never let burn out....
