Why tho? She could announce a Greatest hits in March with a new single so that it can be released around the tour for the following month. I mean digitally, because I expect GH vinyl in the Summer.
And in late May she can release the Anniversary edition of UMS as well, anniversaries last only "a few weeks", and consider that for Let Go 20th she was in the middle of Love Sux era and the vinyl arrived literally the following year, not even in 2022 itself. Now she would release the Anniversary not even in the middle "of a proper era". I think these 2 releases can co-exist.
2025 will be the the year of AL8(we hope) and then 2027 is the TBDT anniversary, but it's also 25th anniversary, so I mean, we would have the same problem (GH for 25th or TBDT20?) so at the end of the day there will be a year where at least 2 things happen together - but - if we had Love Sux and Let Go20th simultaneously, we can also have a GH and UMS20th too! Let's be positive!

PS. I would be so disappointed if she didn't release a UMS Anniversary Edition. And it would be stupid of hers too - it's quick, easy money.
Sometimes I have the feeling her team underestimate the record because it didn't have #1 or #2 hits like Let Go or TBDT, but Under My Skin is literally her 2nd best selling album in her whole career, with more than 12 million copies worldwide (way more than The Best Damn Thing), so it really deserves more recognition.

I think his point is that it might be a bit redundant to have both a GH and anniversary album at the same time, since they would share some of the same songs. It was a bit different with LS and LG because LS was a whole new album. I think it’s still possible for both to get released but I think his point is that if they both include some of the same songs they might not see the point in releasing both.
I think we still need to be realistic regarding the UMS 20th. There’s no confirmation it’s happening at all and is purely fan speculation. It will be a lost opportunity if they don’t do it for sure, but in the end we don’t know what their plans are and for all we know it was never in the plans at all. I feel like if it doesn’t happen a lot of fans will get mad at her, despite the fact we were never promised it to begin with.

Yes this is true, but with a Greatest Hits there would be some redundant songs anyways. Let Go 20th Anniversary is still "fresh" (literally her latest release) and if she releases a GH there would be a redundancy of with Complicated, Sk8r Boi, I'm with you.. which will clearly be in the GH.
So having the GH and the UMS20th as close releases is still possible imo, I don't expect more than MHE and NH to make the cut honestly. So it would be just 2 songs.
As far as the last sentence you said "so many fans will get mad at her even if we were never promised", is so true. I will be mad 😅

The remastering of the LG20 was done by Feldi, if my memory serves me correctly? I wonder if Avril is still in contact with him? UMS was published on Arista as LG, it seems? If this is so, there should be no problem for the release of another anniversary edition, I think

Curious how they never talked about the changes on production of the 20th anniversary edition.

Now that you mention it, an interview between Avril and Feldmann would be cool to see. He's done it before with other people he's worked with. Just sit down and talk about LS and AL8, if hes a big part of it.

I meant to write here yesterday that I had the chance to see Andrea Bocelli in concert the other night and I thought it was interesting the way he structured his show. People had mentioned on Avril's last tour that she would frequently go off stage for breaks and that all her band would do is play extended instrumentals until she came back. I noticed during Bocelli's show that he brought special guests with him and he would sing a few songs then go off stage and one of the guests would come on and sing a song or 2 by themselves, or at one point there were these dancers who did a dance to a West Side Story medley. Bocelli is 65 years old so I'm guessing he goes off stage every few songs to rest probably. I think if Avril is to do the same thing for whatever reason, or she needs to rest after a few songs, that's fine if that's what she needs to do, but they need to come up with something more to happen onstage during those moments, like bringing out the openers again to do a song maybe, or something more interesting than just her band playing instrumentals. There needs to be something going on onstage to hold the audience's attention.

That would be dope singing Tomorrow, Push, Everybody Hurts, paiano songs like Together, slipped away, Forgotten, KHO, When youre gone. I hope she plays Piano ont his tour i need ot see her do piano
