I feel bad for you and for the money spent. The tickets were super expensive and limited when she came to my country in 2022. I traveled to another state just to see her. The trip was amazing except for the show. So disappointing to watch your favorite artist in this situation. I dont think its related to lyme. She didnt have any passion in her eyes during that one hour concert. Awful! This is gonna be my 7th time seeing her in concert. I've been a fan since 2002 and this is my first time regretting for buying a ticket for one of her concerts. I've attended the Bonez, TBDT, AL tour here in Mexico and the HAW Tour in Los Angeles. The first time I was really disappointed was in the HAW Tour, she only did 14 songs and only 2 from the HAW album (HAW and Devil). With the Bite Me/Love Sux Tour I didn't make the effort to travel tbh, since I was not happy with the setlist, but with the GH Tour I was hyped, I don't know why lol. I just watched the whole thing on YouTube and it's so sad. Her voice and stage presence is a joke, the setlist is too short and everything just feels so repetitive and forced. Even when she does her speech before Complicated of "I wanna dedicate this song to everyone who's been there since day one.." Like girl, this is the same speech you used since the TBDT era. Please say something different!!!! Or when she sings Smile and then she says "Mexico tonight you're the reason why I smile..." She's so predectible, boring, bland. I don't know how she's not tired of the same setlists, speeches, arrangements, etc.. It's sad to agree with you. And I have no prospect that it will change... she will probably ignore the criticism and focus on those who agree with everything she does... as always.

The comments from her band and ATL are praising her energy last night… I fear nothing is going to come from the complaints and they will get swept under the rug. Her yes men and fans who praise everything she does will drown out all the negative comments unfortunately. Exactly. Twitter (X) already has both sides fighting.

Some people in this fandom (and in this forum) are definitely debbie downers, but no one likes an ass licker either...

I don't understand why she doesn't at least add in 3 or 4 fan favorites type of songs in there.... I get your greatest hits but some of your greatest hits weren't radio singles avril ugh

It's really funny to see the GH album having more songs than the setlist

The comments on her Insta are either brutal (which is deserved) or absolutely delusional lmao there’s no inbetween
I’m just so bored of reading the excuses. Oh it’s lyme. Oh it’s the first show it’ll get better. Maybe she’s tired. Maybe she’s hungover.
Lyme may be an issue, we’ve no idea. IF it is then she needs to adapt her show to allow for it. Give us acoustic sets where she just sits on a stool and sings for a few songs, we’d LOVE it. I don’t need half arsed fist pumping and middle fingers in some lame attempt to keep up this MFP image. This has been going on for years - it’s not a surprise to her if she genuinely can’t do it anymore, so adapt.
First show excuse is crap - you show up for tour ready for tour. Sure you might loosen up a bit throughout the tour as you get more comfortable and confident, but the first show should still be a solid show. See the videos from the first Eras tour date compared to more recent ones - she’s got more silly and relaxed as the tours gone on but the first show is still absolutely solid and polished. It’s her JOB. Fans paid the same money regardless of whether it’s the 1st or 101st show.
If she’s tired or hungover then.. lol. Again, this is her job. Fans, who aren’t multimillionaires like she is, are paying huge amounts of money to see her. She needs to get her act together if either of these are the case, because it’s quite literally taking the piss out of fans.
She won’t do anything about it. People have mentioned when she listened and added Avalanche to the setlist - yes, for a couple of shows then took it off again?! Thats not listening, thats not even doing the bare minimum. Thats caving to pressure then reverting back to laziness at the first opportunity. I know people hate people saying this but she IS lazy, it’s undeniable at this point. She really couldn’t care less about putting on a show the fans want to see, or putting in the effort to make it a show she can physically commit to, she wants to get her payday then go skateboard and drink beer with her friends like a 18 year old.
Whys she just outright talking rubbish in interviews? Why have we been letting her get away with this for YEARS lol? She says things that she has no intention of doing. Sure nobody wanted a Green Day cover but why say it if it’s not happening? Why say she’s going to play Breakaway if she’s not? Like seriously when will she learn to just shut up unless things are set in stone? Shes just constantly setting herself up to fail and winding up fans in the process. And most importantly, who tells her that accent sounds good?! Sk8er Boi sounds quite frankly ridiculous. If you told me she was drunk performing that I’d believe you.

And she would do that….why? Play Smile which reached #68 but not HTNGU (her last top 20 single)? She’s proud of the legacy she’s built. Her legacy and impact isn’t limited to the first four albums, she’s had “hits” and moments far outside her first 4 records. I think the realistic setlist will be: “Girlfriend" "What the Hell" "Here's to Never Growing Up" "Complicated" “Keep Holding On” "My Happy Ending" "Smile" "Bite Me” “Don’t Tell Me” “When You’re Gone” “Nobody’s Home” “Losing Grip” **Dramatic intro with drums** “Head Above Water” “I’m With You” Encore: “Sk8er Boi” My “realistic” setlist prediction was actually VERY close….which is disappointing because I thought it was the shortest she could make it/ couldn’t NOT do all these songs… 1. This is her CAREER CELEBRATION tour. Was she even on stage for an hour? 2. She has the best selling album by a Canadian female artist in the 21st century. She could literally play Let Go in full, and add singles, and it would amazing. Like it’s not hard! 3. Leaving KHO and Nobody’s Home off your Greatest Hits tour….and replacing them with two flops that weren’t even hits is a damn CHOICE. 4. Her openers played 12 songs. She played 15….wtf? She clearly has full control over her set list and production and doesn’t take any guidance from management….because yikes. 5. it kinda breaks me heart because I wanted to see several shows this tour, get VIP, and celebrate with the songs that have been the soundtrack to my life for 22+ years, but it’s less than the Bite Me tour. Grateful I saw her when I did and likely her last live performance ever of Losing Grip. Can we acknowledge im nearly psychic?

She needs to bring back an acoustic set half way through. She did this on TTSMU, Bonez and TBDT tours and it really helps to bring more light and shade to the show, shows off her vocals, gives us new interpretations for example Losing Grip and Hot acoustic on the TBDT.
She loves everything to be loud and high energy but it doesn't help from a stamina/pacing of the show perspective.

I’m so tired of fans using Lyme as an excuse… Shania Twain also suffered from Lyme (effecting her vocal cords no less) and recently done a 22 song tour and she’s nearly 60 years old!!

Honestly: I am not that disappointed because I expected her GH-Tour exactly like that. To be honest: It is kind of a 2.0-version of her latest tours, just with different visuals and clothes.
Setlist is nearly the same, even a bit worse than the tours before. I really wished for (at least) NH and maybe a Let Go-classic like Losing Grip.
What I am still asking myself: Would I prefer a short 15-songs-setlist (like now) that Avril can deliver „safely“ throughout the whole tour or would I prefer a 25-songs-setlist with the danger of her failing to make it through till September (with cancelling dates as a consequence)? Still dont know.
The biggest critics I have: As I witness other bands at the moment that are improving A LOT when it comes to stage presence , I see a worrying development when it comes to Avril. Honestly I cannot really say if she is having fun doing tours…and this is quite sad. (Especially when she performs at festivals in Europe, where there wont be a big amount of hardcore fans in front of the stage)
AND: Her PR-team really does the barely minimum. Show us more behind-the-scenes on Social Media, give us small acoustic snippets or rehearsal-clips…like whatever. You do not have to be a professional in PR (like me) to improve the stuff. Even with a low budget-plan there are definitely strategies to keep your community on fire. Every indie-band is more creative nowadays – and they dont have a big PR-team behind them.

I saw a lot of Twitter accounts about Pop culture tweeting about fans being disappointed with the setlist. Someone even posted a thread on atrl (a pop music forum). If the she/her team don't care about what the fans think, maybe they will care once the general public as a whole think the her shows are not as good as they used to be.

Even if Avril wasn't capable of pulling off a 25 song setlist (as in full songs), she could once again easily adapt it so that she is playing more songs as medleys or shortening some, i.e. removing the second verse and chorus as she did for many songs on TBDTour. She could easily fit in 20+ songs if she did that. Unfortunately, fans are right, there really are no excuses. The thing is, even if Avril herself can't be bothered or simply doesn't know these things exist/isn't skilled enough to create it, she has a musical director who would. I'm just confused why NOBODY around her is making these suggestions, unless they are, and she is saying no? I get wanting to play the songs in full but I wouldn't mind them being shortened (the lesser ones nobody cares about as much like Smile for instance, do we really need that problematic second verse anyway? ) if it meant we'd hear more songs altogether. Perhaps the Green Day cover might get added as a replacement once ATL is gone. Maybe that's the intention so I don't think we can rule it out just yet. Next show is tomorrow, we'll see how the next few shows go. I don't expect any changes to the setlist but let's hope her energy and vocals improve. While I agree the first show should be solid, despite any first night jitters or anything, fans did complain about the audio levels and that's down to her crew, so unfortunately it isn't only Avril not giving her best at the start. Despite the fact they do sound checks and tech rehearsals beforehand, you'd think they'd have the sound down perfect, but I guess even with all the prep once you factor in thousands of people in a packed arena it'll change the sound and maybe they should have accounted for that. Maybe to them the sound was perfect but fans think otherwise. It was the same issue with the beginning of the last tour where fans said the backing tracks were way too loud and they adjusted it. I sadly think Avril probably relies on them as a crutch and asks for them to be loud so they purposely sound louder than her but fans complain she's being drowned out. And this is why we're hearing how weak her voice is now.
