Lol all the comments on her IG post are about people asking for UMS 20th anniversary edition and complaining about no new songs on the GH. I hope she reads them. Was it really that hard for her team to include 1 new song? With all the material she has and unreleased songs for years, seems hard to believe they couldn’t bother to include one song, just one! it clearly seems to be a kind of problem - this release is under her legacy deal with Sony, i doubt they wouldn’t want her to include an unreleased track. it really seems like a problem with rights or Avril owns her tracks to such an extend that Sony didn’t want to pay her the money she wanted to put something more out That makes sense. People think everything is under her control, but there's a lot of business behind every decision. Even Taylor F* Swift had problems with her catalog. So I don't know what to expect from Avril. She even mentioned she wanted to release a GH before, probably during 2009-2010, and RCA didn't allow her. Pink had a lot of deep cuts included in her GH because it was released in the first half of her career when she clearly didn't have as many hits. Avril is in a completely different situation now. This GH is gonna be released under Sony (including songs from Arista, RCA, Epic - but also BMG, DTA/Warner).

Any chance the booklet will showcase her reusing her old outfits? That would be cool.
I was expecting these pics to be in the booklet, but it's actually a nylon photoshoot. 🤣

Okay, now that the tracklist is official, I have to admit I'm a little bit disappointed after all. Not a single new song. Meh. It's nice to see they seem to offer CDs, though. But unless it turns out the booklet has something special to offer (new photos, notes from Avril, etc.), I definitely won't buy this. It's just not worth it. I honestly feel like they approached this with a different target audience in mind. This GH is probably meant for casual listeners, and maybe new fans who are just starting to get into her and don't own any physical copies of her albums yet. But not us long-time fans. Which is sad to think about, because we're probably the main reason why she's still got a career at all. Adding just one new song could have been a nice acknowledgement of that. But alas, as so often, we seem to be getting the bare minimum. I'm not giving up hope for a UMS 20th Anniversary, though. I know chances keep getting smaller and smaller, but I just refuse to believe Avril and her team will completely ignore the album that produced one of her biggest hits to date (MHE) and has been considered a fan-favourite for years!

Yeah, that's what I think. This is for her casual listeners. So, are they going to release it on CD too? It's probably cheaper, so there's a chance I'd buy it for my CD collection. Vinyls are so expensive for me, and I don't even use them.

The cake is very big in Avril’s case

The re-issue of Let Go for the 20th Anniversary Edition didn't make much difference honestly. I don't think GH will do much to her career either in terms of gaining new fans. She needs to be more active on social media and be more personable especially on TikTok. Her lip-syncing videos did very well.

TikTok isn’t gonna matter anymore eventually sadly so she’s gonna have to find another way

Why isn't this being released under DTA/Universal? Is it because of most of her catalogue being under Sony for her first 5 albums? Wondering how DTA/Universal get profit off the LS songs.

Unfortunately the casual listener aren't checking up on her. She's considered a legacy act.
